There are a lot of categories, there are differences long vs short, also in terms of a log kick (> 40m) being considered effective if it goes to a contest, a shorter kick needs to hit a target, stuff like that.

Cheers mate. Yeah thats where it gets iffy because if a kick goes 39m CD often give the benefit of the doubt to certain players, thus effecting their score. Some players kick it 45m to a contest and get zero points because CD decide it was a short kick instead.

CD are not collecting data specifically for Supercoach - they collect data for the clubs.

100%, and some seem to get the benefit of the doubt more than others, that's one area I think people have a genuine point about when they criticize the scoring system.
