Look at most clubs and there will be a spread of contributors from various rounds

Finding a quality key position players outside the first round is pretty much as rare as a Brian Lake these days though

Quality KPP are definitely something you don't get aside from early order draft picks, or trades/FA.

That's why I'd happily bundle second round picks with first round picks to trade for known quality players, ie justifying the JOM and TOM trades, and do it again in 18 or 19 to target some key positions this time.

Save the second round picks to trade to improve the yield of first round picks and then simply FA in the B graders instead of using second round picks.
