We have handed them goals with really bad decision making

Being under pressure does that though, the problem is our game style hasn't been working for us, and we've not been able to adjust in any way.

Plus, they are slicker than us at this stage of the game and after a promising start we've come off the boil a bit.

When Sicily is giving hospital handballs, and we're looking this average, it's the heat in the game that is making it happen as much as it's the players not being capable.

It can turn around, even if it's not today, we'll be learning from this (as embarasrsing and painful as it likely is for the players).

I'm not equipped to understand what's happening out there. (I suspect the younger players, especially the debutants, are weary after a big game last week.)

Has the defensive structure gone out the window? How? The horrible disposal and decision-making creating quick turnovers? Are we running ahead of the ball?

McEvoy's injury critical. Reeves outclassed. No-one capable of matching King. Midfield incapable of defending.

But most importantly, I've to seen anything in the last couple of years to indicate that our senior players, including multiple premiership stars, are capable of leading this club consistently and helping drag us back into games. Mitchell goes closest, but we seem to perform alright without him. But what would I know.

Fingers crossed we keep running out the game, but our skill levels under pressure aren't up to scratch it seems.

But I would prefer to see a result that was free of umpiring incompetence, but still a 7-goal loss seems likely.

Unfortunately our fixture gets harder for the next month. 3W-6L, 4W at best.

Very similar to last years game v Saints.
Seeing as Ratts has good Intel on us maybe we should give these guys a different look when we play them so they don't rock up knowing what there going to get because he's comprehensively outcoached Mitch here so its up to Mitch to start asking questions back and not just for this match but in future when we play Stkilda. There developing a streak on us.

St.Kildas’ pressure has been very good.

Umpiring is very disappointing.

Hawks decision making is extremely poor.

Losing Worpel before the game has unsettled our midfield.

There’s another half for the boys to turn it around (inc umps)

Yeah, these are the sort of games this team is going to have as they develop.

St Kilda is a mature team that will beat the bottom half but aren’t going to lay a finger on the top 6.

So long as we keep taking it on I’ll live with it. Thanks goodness CJ is playing.

Our decision making is our biggest issue today. Some of our ball use from the back half has been ordinary.
Our key forwards can't take a mark inside 50.
Our midfield still not doing enough with it.

Heaps to work on.

Those articles stitch our players up every time.

But I agree with the first point, and figure it's very early days to be writing off finals just yet.

A lot can change in a long season. We've shown promise, even early in this game.

we're just not potent going forward today. Doesn't help we missed some really getable chances early.

That is because they keep winning the ball back in the centre. Literally impossible to get their forwards out of the front half if we can’t get it past half way 🤪
This is true. But even in the first quarter they were getting us out the back from our f50. Exactly what we were doing to teams.

They usually loose the games against teams bellow them and give top 6 teams a run for their money. Could really handle McEvoy out there though. Vintage Ryder
