I’ll be there cheering on the boys. Got the tickets months ago as I’m a local, didn’t have any thought of it being a top of the table clash!

Skunk in would be huge but I feel like he will be back next week. Ross stated in a presser a few weeks back that all the players in our 23 will be 100% fit and ready to go, no one underdone.

He said in todays presser that he has done a heap of work and there should be no reason he doesn’t get through training this week to put his hand up.

Said the issue is that the current side have done the job each week.

I think he will play.

Help me out here then, you would have heard over the years Lyon state "you play the way you train"

Do you think Lyon is preparing Coops to be an outside receiving utility by training him in all these different positions, he's a big chance to get picked this week then huh?

If he doesn't get picked this week amidst our injury crisis, what would you think is the reason?
Batch's review is interesting on Coops. e.g. good endurance= working his butt off, good disposal & decision making.
There was one glaring pre-season training incident though, where Lyon yelled at Sharman to get to the right side of the in coming ball in the forward line, so this would assume he has some forward frailaties. I think his endurance has improved in this pre-season, where he seemed to run well in the 3klm time trials. Maybe he becomes a Wood type player.

FWIW, only the Gold Coast have a worse record in SA than us, and we're playing the only non-SA team to have a winning record there.

Nice work from the AFL.

You do understand those stats are accumulated in opposition to SA teams, playing in SA.
Aside from covid years there are no stats for Vic teams playing against other Vic teams in SA.
So it's of little to no concern

Daisy and Purple both tipping Collingwood as their certainties for this week, with Damo even stating it'll be a reality check for us. I'm not saying were going to win, but Collingwood with no recognised Ruckman at all at a neutral venue should even the gap imo. To say it'll be a reality check I think is a fair way off the mark. Doubt we lose by more than 3 goals if we do.

When Sharman has his great start I said to an AFL recruiter “I like this kid, how do they fall through the cracks?” he replied “could’ve fooled us, we had no idea he wanted to be an AFL footballer, maybe he’s decided he wants to be.”

Maybe just covering his a*se.
How do they explain Wilkie then? 4 drafts unselected.

Can’t drop Cordy. Uses his big body to spoil and just get in the way of their big bodies. No one else can do that.

Rather have Membrey as the key forward. Believe that he can provide more of a focal point up forward and allow Butler/Higgins play their more natural role.

RTB. Gave a journo a clip for “dominating like Owens” lol.

This guy is just hilarious …
“I’m collaborative now, don’t make unilateral decisions.”
Pokes fun at himself, the journos and anyone else.
Re the grounds … “to the afl if you’re listening, get it right. “

I find myself smiling through every one of his pressers … it’s a good feeling after all the cringeworthy ones we had to listen to.

It’s the Ross show. He gives half responses to the journos questions and then goes off on his tangents. The journos are only extras. He’s great.

I like his mindset on testing the system this week. I think they are tweaking endlessly for different scenarios, not putting a lot of emphasis on winning but just taking the systems down and doing what they trained to do.

Sharman was pretty good on the weekend

Not sure about him on the wing though and I doubt he plays this week in the wet

Maybe the move to the wing is to try and make him a more hard working mobile forward

Peris with 10 contested possessions and 5 tackles puts him into contention for the sub
