Round 5 Trades

Anyone know Clokes BE?

I'm thinking...
Bartell to Cloke
Neade to Mayes

His BE is 2. Good trades. I'm not yet sold on Cloke. Had him last season and it was just a world of pain. I foresee him dropping off soon, but I'm probably wrong.

Yeah I'm not sold but I'm treating him like Westhoff and Hodge. Get some quick cash while I can and trade them to a proper premo.

The 2 trades per week helps a hell of a lot.

Yeah.... and the more I'm thinking about it, the more I now think I should do Bartel to Cloke.

After umming and ahhing for about 8743820974023894 times, I've decided to go with my gut and not pick Evans. I predict Evans to go back to his 60ish ways (although with Rich out.... ARGH). He's still going to shoot up heaps, but if I'm right, then his price rise will be about the same as B.Goodes, or O'Meara, not crazy like Wines.

To my mind, if Kerridge gets an 80 this week, then he'll be in the exact same position as Evans is this week. There's still plumper cash cows out there, and in effect I'm valuing my 2 trades next week higher than the net gain of getting Evans this week will get me. I predict Cloke to ton it, which should get his value to about 500k.

Varcoe > Mayes
Longer (it's taken me 4 weeks to get rid of him!) > Cloke, Rowe to R3.

EDIT: Was always picking Mayes over Evans, because I think he's more consistent, and now with Rich's injury his JS is heaps higher.

Robinson to Cloke
PattyK to Mayes

NEXT WEEK
Kommer to Kerridge
Neade to SJ/Buddy

Like your trades! Haha... thinking of the same, except for me it's
Viney/Neade > Kerridge
Moloney > premo

I'm tossing up between a few, would appreciate input:

Bartel --> Mayes
Viney --> Evans (keeping Crouch for loophole)

OR

Bartel --> Cloke
Viney --> Evans (significantly cheaper than Mayes)

OR

Neade --> Mayes
Viney --> Evans

(or is Mayes a better choice over Evans full top?)

By the way guys I had a play around with DT genie. Mayes is tipped for the biggest rise (60k). If that helps

The predicted rise is based on a sample of two games. Trading in Mayes depends on your own assessment of his scoring potential and job security in my view.

Im trading in Cloke so my first trade has to be done before partial lockout!! All collingwood, essendon, Sydney and st kilda players get locked in at the start of the collingwood vs Essendon

Its for this reason Im ignoring any players from those 4 teams this week...just dont like the idea of using trades before teams come out as there always tends to be a surprise or two that completely alters plans.

I'm getting a bit nervous. I'm looking at taking advantage on the loophole. So i've got swan (vc) ablett (c). I'm making one trade before partial lockout which is k.mitchel -> mayes. I'm doing this so I can swing dwyer to mid emergency and play mayes on the ground up fwd.

So if Swan has a great score i'll trade viney -> evans and play crouch on ground with the (c) and get dwyers emg score.

If Swan scores sub 110, I'll captain Ablett and trade viney -> Evans and depending on dwyers emg score will either play evans on the field or keep crouch on the field and take dwyers score.

Can anyone see a fault? Other than swan getting a great score and dwyer getting a terrible score or dwyer being sub, which i will know before lockout

I like option 1 for this week, maximises your cash flow. Start upgrading next week.

Can't see a fault, should work fine :thumbsu:

(as long as one of your mids on the benxh isn't playing today)

I hear you. I really want to do Bellchambers > Leuey as I reckon they'll average the same and I can bank a quick $130k. Think I'll still do it anyway as I really liked Leuey's game last week against Goldy, even through they got smashed.

What to do with Kommer???

Bringing in Mayes and Evans. Was thinking Crouch & Kommer out. But undecided now.

Thinking Crouch and Viney out. Kommer likely to return next week and still has to cash to make. Viney will not make much if he plays this week.

Yeah, I agreed with you an hour or so ago but now I'm leaning towards Cloke for Bartel and Mayes for Viney. It feels like Cloke is going to kill it today and, if he does, I won't be happy with myself if I don't get him. He's still due to make a heap of money, and should put up a big score. I can't chase cash for too long, there is still plenty to be made at these early stages. Evans should see a big rise, but I reckon he will go back to his scores of 50 etc, whereas Mayes will maintain a higher average. If I can potentially get around 50k rise from someone like Cloke, then it definitely seems worth doing.

Then again, Cloke knows how to disappoint.

In theory, a clever strategy as you are maximising every loophole opportunity. A word of warning though......with 14 teams yet to be announced and potential injuries (Rich) and late withdrawals, it could backfire spectacularly.

The DT gods are often unkind, so sometimes the K.I.S.S principle works best.

Good luck though, I hope it works out well for you.

Crouch > Mayes

Viney > Evans.

Upgrades next week and plan to bring back crouch when he is fit.

Cheers. I think my team is flexible enough to be able to handle some late withdrawals. Gonna chance it, just hoping Dwyer doesn't stink it up

Viney -> Mayes
Blicavs -> Stevie J (via DPP)

Leaves me with 81k in the bank and this team:

B: Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Hibberd, Goodes, Pittard (Stevenson, Heath)
M: Swan, Ablett, J.P.Kennedy, S.Selwood, Moloney, Wines, O'Meara, M.Jones (Dwyer, Crouch)
R: Cox, Goldstein (Rowe, Currie)
F: Johnson, Bartel, Rockliff, Lewis, J.J.Kennedy, Mayes (McAffer, Neade)

Trades next week will then be:

Pittard/Stevenson/Heath/Neade/Crouch -> Docherty/Kerridge
Moloney -> Watson
