Thoughts on bringing in Leuey for Blicavs instead of Mayes for Neade/Bartel this week? I was going to bring Leuey in last week but went with Embley --> Hodge instead.

Current rucks are Jon Griffin and Coxy.

I'm not sure about trading Bartel this week... sure he's got a high B/E but I reckon he could post a really good score against the dogs, who are just going and will be without Griffin this week too. I'm going to keep him, he's got too much quality to let go after one poor game.

I've reversed my trades about 3 times this week, ended up going Viney > Evans and Neade > Cloke, moved Mayes to F8, Dwyer to Mid bench and have Evans and Omeara (playing GWS should get a good score) as M7 and M8.

Consensus seems to be trading Macaffer rather than Neade is a better option, anyone care to expand on this? Is it because Neade is a DPP? Better JS?

Solid trades there. As for Macaffer, its viewed that with some Collingwood players returning from injury, together with Dwyers form, he won't get many games. Meanwhile Neade is playing well in a developing club with no real finals aspirations (well at the beginning of the season) so will likely get more games.

Just to throw out some names, there's quality upgrades to be found in the forwards at the moment. Thinking Garlett, Cloke, Stokes, and Walters. All viable choices IMO.

I am stuck and need some help.

I'm trading Siposs out this week as am sick of his late withdrawls and below par scores. I am contemplating bringing Robbie Gray or Sam Kerridge in.

Robbie Gray is a quality player, but from what I read on the Port board he is likely to be sub again this week or possibly dropped to get more game time.
Sam Kerridge had a pretty good week last week for someone of such low value, and is almost certain to avoid the sub vest this week. He may not play many weeks though with Smith, Vince, etc finding form in the SANFL.

What are peoples thoughts on this trade? Or am I missing someone that I should be looking closer at?

Agree with this - I'm getting Cloke in this week as I've said, but I'm a bit wary of the effect Carlisle will have on his score. I'm taking a long term view of his worth however, teams without a premier backman he will rack up big scores.

Mayes? Or are you already getting him?

No way will Neade be the sub....did you see West Coasts struggle against Carltons small forwards? Neade will not be the sub this week. He was subbed on the weekend to protect him for this week.
Neade will be sub so he has fresh legs to be able to outrun Adam Selwood.

I've been banking on getting Franklin for cheap for a while now, but the man keeps putting in decent games and Dusty (my cash cow) just had a shocker.

My real issue are my bench defenders. Colquhoun and Vlastuin, who haven't played at all. I think I've missed out on the Terlich train, but will swallow my pride and remove one of my bench players for him.

So Terlich for either Colquhoun or Vlastuin.
Last minute trade pending any injuries. Dusty for Franklin

Get Docherty for Colquhoun, Vlastuin should make his debut this week according AFL website

That's my way of thinking. I've already brought in Monfries, Kennedy, Mullet and Westoff which have been making as much coin as the rookies whilst still scoring really well. I don't intend on keeping any of them at this stage and Monfries will go this week for a straight swap with Stokes. He has a break even of 11 so he can earn 40k if he scores another ton.

Thinking of the following two trades:

1) Kane Mitchell to Michael Evans - Mitchell is stuck on Port Adelaide's rookie list and likely won't be back any time soon. Evans has impressed and should see plenty of games this season. Even if he doesn't, he's set for a few significant price rises over the coming weeks. I didn't get on Matt Jones and I probably should have, don't want to make the same mistake here with Evans.

2) Jimmy Bartel to Sam Mayes - I picked Bartel from the start of the season as a premium but have been thoroughly unimpressed by his scoring thus far this season. Is not seeing significant time in the midfield and his scoring is clearly down. He may have a big week here or there but I'd rather move him on now than sit on my hands in the hope that he comes good some time soon. Mayes has impressed in his first two games and with Brisbane struggling he should feature in the senior side a fair bit throughout the course of the year.

That would mean my side looks as follows:

B: Gibbs, Goddard, Heppell, Goodes, Pittard, Stevenson (Heath, Terlich)
C: Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, J Selwood, Cotchin, Wines, O'Meara, Viney (Crouch, Evans)
R: Cox, Leuenberger (Blicavs, Daw)
F: Franklin, Rockliff, Westhoff, Kennedy, Mayes, Rowe (Neade, Dwyer)

The above trades will also leave me with $386,500 spare to play with over the coming weeks. Currently I am ranked 507 overall and I feel I am in a fairly good position.

Would love to hear your thoughts guys. Sound like a good plan for this week or can you see something which may be more worthwhile?

I'm 544th and with a fairly similar team to yours. I don't mind those trades but again is it worth doing two more rookie cash grabs this week or is it time to start looking for premo's to come into your side? Maybe I'm in a better position than others seeing as I got Mayes in last week so only need to find room for Evans but IMO its high time to start upgrading rooks to premos to maximise scoring.

i expect the supply to cloke will be much better than any of the forwards Carlisle has well beaten since round one. if fletcher is out in this one we will truly see his importance to the essendon backline.

J. Kennedy (Swans) --> G. Ablett
A. Siposs --> S. O'Hailpin
Thoughts?

Get Mayes over O'Hailpin if you dont already have him. Otherwise I would get Rowe instead of Ohailpin even though his price has gone up. Ohailpin is injury prone, expensive and quite spuddish, also gets in trouble with mrp.

Thanks for your response. :thumbsu:

You absolutely raise a valid point. At the moment I am leaning towards another double cash grab but a case can certainly be made for looking to bring in a premium and that is something which I have considered.

The main reason why at this stage I'm leaning towards a cash grab, is simply because my current rookies are performing well enough to warrant at least one more week. None are scoring terribly and all of them seem to have, at the very least, one more significant price rise left in them. I don't like trading out cash cows before they have fully matured or unless there is an absolutely obvious premium that needs to be bought, but perhaps that's now an outdated way of going about it.

The one premium I'm strongly considering is Grimes. Stevenson is probably going to be the first rookie traded out of my side, and the premium defender I have my eye on is Grimes. Hasn't had a brilliant start to the season but has now lost a chunk of value and looks like he may head north in price for the next little while. Of course there are others that must be considered there (Birchall in particular) but can I justify spending the additional 75k or so? Not sure I can, particularly when I'm really looking for value in the premiums I trade in.

I'm not considering upgrading anyone in my midfield just yet as all rookies are performing nicely, excluding Viney on the weekend but I think it's too early to get rid of him.

The forward line is a bit of a shambles this year so I think I'm happy to let that sit as is for another week, at least. Happy with Buddy and Rockliff as premiums, bought Westhoff last week and he has a few more price rises to come yet. Kennedy as a mid-pricer is performing well and there's no need to move him on just yet, and then there's the rookies who are all performing well enough to keep around for a few more weeks yet. That, plus there not being an obvious and performing premium to go for (besides perhaps SJ) makes me lean towards leaving the forward line as is for another week.

That the gap in price between someone like Stevenson and Grimes is unlikely to widen this week (in fact it is more than likely to become smaller) makes me think the double downgrade is this week the right way to go.

Kruezer to which ruck? My Daw as ruck 2 was cruelly cheated.

Maric's price is decreasing, Big Boy McEvoy is doing well. Right Now I have traded in Gawn which should be okay for this week. Daw could be a good scored but he might start as the sub given his head injury. He is a ruckman though who traditionally don't start as the sub. I will keep Daw as R3 in the hope he will score well.

Yeah, I already have Mayes, will change to Rowe now thanks for the help.
