I didn't say he had 0 hitouts and took 1 mark before. Thanks for that reply though, even though it adds nothing to the discussion.

And that was revealed to be because of match ups, which clearly was a error in judgement. Hasnt missed since. And has always played in the 23 for the last 2 years.Yeah that’s not what I said though. He was omitted/dropped round 5 last year, ended up as the sub.
Bloody hell.Coxy just said on his podcast that he has been given the all clear to start running, but no contact for a couple more weeks.
Indeed, and as I think Fly mentioned the week he became available he would return via the twos.
Maybe Murph and Adams come straight back in, but someone has to go out.
From the way Fly talks about it even a 40 goal forward like Ginni has to earn his spot when one opens up so this may apply to a gun defender or even a key mid.
Felt to me (also from things Fly had mentioned) more about just getting some run in his legs, get his GPS numbers up and making sure he was running as much as he needed to. The moment that happened, he was back. Was never about touches or goals (as if we needed proof of that)Missed all the preseason practice matches as well so hadn't played any real footy. A couple of games of VFL was a rather obvious transition. He hardly set the game alight in his VFL games so I doubt "earn" is the correct term. Had the bare minimum preparation and rushed back ASAP.
That in itself is not a reason to drop him, nor is it the way Collingwood works. They select on need, and to retain structure.
After missing an entire summer, playing one vfl game and then getting sick, he’s hardly had the ideal preparation. But he did free up Johnson to play forward for most of the game and gave frampton a chop out. And he was definitely smashing packs.
In the absence of Cameron Cox mcstay, and with Begg still injured and Steene still learning, he stays.
Cox is a month awayI think Kreuger stays in until Cox is back.
He was poor but Johnson is a much more dangerous option when he doesn’t have to go into the ruck.
Fingers crossed he can get better before he gets injured. Hopefully not the latter either but was tested at one point of the game yesterday taking a bump to his right shoulder. Took a bit of time to shake it off.Kruger in or out has nothing to do with how many possessions he had, the reserve game he played before the senior call up was less than what he had yesterday
He plays for structure and will get better with more games under his belt
What, haha. I broke it (my finger) playing footy, and came back to play twos in a country league. The guys I was playing on when I came back were probably 140kgDoes your job involve grappling opponents weighing 90-100kg that are able to bench press 140-150 kg?
I’m pretty sure Elliott is carrying some sort of injury. Every time he’s kicking from more than 40m out he clearly doesn’t think he can make the distance and tries to run around the man on the mark and shanks it.A player like Elliott we can’t play in the seconds (would be a waste of a good player).
But surely he’s out of touch/confidence vs his sublime skills last year.
Should we rotate him through the midfield a bit more to try to help him to hit form?
Agree, and there's no VFL game this week, he needs the run and if it needs to be in the AFL then so-be-it. Continuity is key for Krueger, he needs to string 10 - 15 games together - he's a difference maker and he's worth the investment - especially now when we're so low on key tallsVery well said and spot on.
We need Krueger structurally to free up AJ and relieve Frampton. And for tall coverage in the event of injury to Moore, Frampton, Checkers or AJ.
Adelaide’s fleet of talls is more numerous and potent that Essendon’s. It would be madness to drop one of our few available physically-compatible talls for this particular match.
I think Freddy stays in until Cox returns.

Dead in front yesterday and usually a Soda for him. Not sure anyone else thinks looks fatigued too?I’m pretty sure Elliott is carrying some sort of injury. is kelly being groomed as WHE's replacement? .... booming accurate kick (that final quarter roost to hill on the half forward flank - wow)
questions:
1. does he have the tank?
2. and the physical presence to hold his own in contested marks?
WHE didn’t have the physical presence, but he’s also not that easily replaced. Kelly is still built like whippet.is kelly being groomed as WHE's replacement? .... booming accurate kick (that final quarter roost to hill on the half forward flank - wow)

Definitely has the tank. The other, remains to be seen.is kelly being groomed as WHE's replacement? .... booming accurate kick (that final quarter roost to hill on the half forward flank - wow)

not a WHE fan ..... but have to admit he can hold his own in marking contests (when he commits)WHE didn’t have the physical presence, but he’s also not that easily replaced. Kelly is still built like whippet.
If he goes alright he'll stay in until McStay returns.I think Kreuger stays in until Cox is back.
