What, haha. I broke it (my finger) playing footy, and came back to play twos in a country league. The guys I was playing on when I came back were probably 140kg 😂

I'm just saying the fact he's going to a "hand specialist" isn't necessarily a big deal. It's just like going to the physio. Without it he could have limited mobility or strength for a longer term.
Lol…
No disrespect. However, AFL vs bush footy? A broken finger. You tape it against another and splint it….
Really?
Howe busted his arm ( 3 clean breaks, bone through the skin ) in round 1. It then got infected.
If he’s back by July, it’s a miracle.

A player like Elliott we can’t play in the seconds (would be a waste of a good player).

But surely he’s out of touch/confidence vs his sublime skills last year.

Should we rotate him through the midfield a bit more to try to help him to hit form?
He looks like he’s playing sore to me. No surprise given he’s hammered every week.

BF Crows fans think we won’t get within 5 goals of them this weekend. What’s more amusing is them thinking they will run all over us if it’s close at 3 quarter time.
meanwhile we are favourites. Time to bring them back to earth, like Essendon and St Kilda.

They beat richmond (who hasn't lol)
Port - See above
Freo - they are useless
Carlton - above
Hawks - lucky to win that.

They havent played a real contender yet.

They now have us, geelong, st kilda, lions next month

This is correct. It’s a specialized area. The definition of a specialist being “to know more and more about less and less”. ;)

Richmond beat the Crows in Rd 2.

Agree. Kelly didn’t actually do much yesterday to be honest (not a positive or negative). He was a fresh player playing against players who were clearly out of legs and didn’t attack much when he was on.

He gave a beautiful quickfire hand pass to I think it may have been Pendles and his kick to Bobby Dazzler which resulted in a goal was brilliant.
He had 5 disposals in a qtr of football.
Nick Daicos averaged 10 per qtr.
Ipso facto he was half as good as Nick.
I will take any player who is half as good as Nick.

You know my logic is sound so don't try to argue with it.

In : Adams, Murphy, Carmichael, Macrae

Out : Pendlebury (eye/manage), Ruscoe / Markov (Either one will be stiff), Elliott (Looks sore. Give him an extended break), Krueger (Needs a couple of at VFL level games under his belt. Get him ready for the Carlton game).

Adelaide don't play overly tall up forward, with Walker and Fogarty as their key forwards, with Thilthorpe forward/ruck. Moore, Murphy, Maynard with Frampton dropping back into the space in D50 whilst in the ruck, can be the match-ups.

Keep Kelly as the sub, and give Macrae a full game in the midfield. In saying that, l thought Kelly did well when he came on Anzac Day.
Play Adams more F50, with less midfield time.

Hoping everyone is right on Kelly.
Everyone is right on Kelly what? What is everyone saying now that he has played a quarter of AFL football after a bunch of forgettable VFL games? I'd like to watch a couple more games before leaping aboard his bandwagon.

All spot on apart from Richmond got a roll on and belted them in the last quarter.
I think they’re being vastly overhyped

And that was revealed to be because of match ups, which clearly was a error in judgement. Hasnt missed since. And has always played in the 23 for the last 2 years.
Not sure what you are trying to contribute to the conversation, you clearly haven’t followed it at all. My original post said he had been great since he had been dropped last year, the guy replying to me said he hadn’t missed a game since 2020. His start to last year was poor and he was obviously omitted because of that, my point was that he’s great since that omission.

Thanks for chiming in though, very helpful 👍

The game turned after Kelly was subbed on - 7 goals to none! #thedifference

I also have a rock that keeps tigers away.

In: Adams, Murphy, Carmichael (sub)

Out: any two of Markov, Krueger, Ruscoe

Kelly out… so he gets a full game in the VFL

No good having the same kids as sub for multiple weeks at a time

There is no vfl this weekend, it’s a bye round for us

I think their credentials are certainly being overstated, but their form is good and they're a dangerous side at home. Off the short break with an undersized side, we're vulnerable, and it certainly levels things up a bit. I'll still back us to win, but it won't be easy.

Nicely summed up Jen.

People still calling for WHE's head? Same as last year. I tried to find how many Copeland votes he got, one source said 55 (winner had in the 200s), not sure if it was accurate though. Definitely in our best 22, probably our best 12, at least from the coaches PoV.

Missed all the preseason practice matches as well so hadn't played any real footy. A couple of games of VFL was a rather obvious transition. He hardly set the game alight in his VFL games so I doubt "earn" is the correct term. Had the bare minimum preparation and rushed back ASAP.
Yeah fair enough, I still think guys will have to earn their spots back unless they are critical pieces. Adams the most likely as he's one of our two hard ball getters. Such a luxury to supplement this absolute machine with (with all due respect) an even better version in Mitchell.

I think our forward line had been very crowded the past few games, which has most adversely affected Elliott and to a lesser extent, Checkers.

I’d love us to tweak our plans a bit to keep it more open inside F50 so those two get more space to lead into. I’m not sure how to do it - that’s why Fly, Leppa and Co get paid the big bucks!
