I know Kreuzering has got another zinger for us. Probably just perfecting the wording before dropping the hammer.
He'll be back once he's finished discussing Cerra + top 5 pick for Cripps on the Blues board.

Good to see Woosha has made an impact already.
Teague sprouting this to the media:

"Would we love to be ahead of where we're at in terms of win-loss? Yeah. But in terms of the overall picture and the lessons and learnings we're creating at the moment, in the bigger picture it will really help us.

Lesson1 young Teague Train, use the word "learnings" alot, it makes you sound very astute without actually answering the question.

You know the club better than me so I will defer to your better judgment, but from an outsider I haven't seen anything about a rebuild and thought you just had young players because a lot of your better players wanted to leave the club.

Doesn't seem like a purposeful rebuild

You have a point but only in the sense that the club cannot utter the "r" word. It's not clear to me that anyone can even say it. It wouldn't fit our marketing strategy.

But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter as long as we're performing the rebuild, does it? Just as it doesn't matter that there are a number of reasons a club finds itself at the point it needs to rebuild.

- 10 or so list changes at the end of 2020.
- 5 first game debutantes (3 x 19 yo and 1 x 20 yo), 3 more new players all who have at least 5 to 7 years left (Caldwell is a 3rd year player).
- Only 1 more untried kid on the list, Bryan, we'd really be wanting to look at this year (short of improvement of others that would be as dramatic as it would be unexpected).
- 2 x 30 year olds in the team.
- New coach implementing a new style of footy.
- Making significant positional changes that allow for the evolution of the team and maximum development (see Laverde, Stewart and Heppell in defence).
- We're going to change over another 8 to 10 spots at the end of the year.

It's about as much as I'd want to rebuild in any given year.

But is it 'purposeful?'

Is 'learnings' a woosha staple?? Teagues been overusing it since he got the head coach gig...

good luck. Hoping for a cracking game.

I was considering making the word a red card offence it was that maligned.

From the Teague press conference

- Luke Parks is very likely to come in.
- Silvagni a 50/50
- Newman, De Koning, Setterfield and Dow will play VFL.

Also said that he’s not a fan of making selection statements and is backing his players in (used Eddie as an example). So can’t imagine anything too crazy happening with their team choices this week.

If Eddie Betts does play, that is a huge win for us. Looks about 2 years past it

Yes I'm well aware this will bite me in the ass

Can't wait... I love it when Essendon get brought down to earth
How many spoons does it take to finish 13th?

You guys just suck so much, year in, year out.

Your premiership window is a piece of grubby glad wrap sticking out from under the lid of a rubbish bin.

Hope you enjoyed March. Expectation season is the only thing you can really look forward to. Sad.

Teaguey, Teaguey, Teaguey.

Teams don't create learnings, learnings will create the team.

I'd actually be surprised to win this game. Blue will be absolutely fired up to win this game after back to back losses. Will be interesting to see how we back up after our win last week..

Agreed.

They’re not very good but still a level above us right now. This is a game they should be winning.

Previous expensive from us suggests we will be feeling pretty content with ourselves after a good win in our last outing. They won’t be.

They are definite favourites and rightly so. I just want to see our guys continue to have a crack and follow the game style being implemented. If a few of the youngsters have a good game, even better.

Rumour being discussed on Blitz that Phillips may have an injury concern and Bryan will debut.
I didn't notice this when I watched the replay with the TV commentary. But when I watched it a second time with the ABC Grandstand commentary they mentioned Phillips going off during the first or second quarter.

He played out the game obviously, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did have a niggle of some sort. If he's not right, this is probably the best game to give him the week off and give Bryan a run.

Pittonet's not a bad ruckman by any means, but he's definitely one we can safely debut Bryan against. Especially with Wright giving him a chop out.

No he won't. ;)
