Crows AFLW side always been a shit kick for goal and it's finally bit them on the ass
Chelsea Randall the only Crow to hold her head up, tried so hard, a pity her team mates couldn't follow suit.
Commentators banging on about certain Crow midfielders and their high number of possessions, how effective were their possessions?

Players should apologise to the fans who turned up there.

I know it will sound stupid and fishing for an excuse but the players the last 2 matches honestly looked like they didn’t know what to do with the yellow ball with its glare and depth perception difference under those new Norwood lights, they fumbled and dropped everything the last 2 matches a lot more then even they usually do.

AFLW in trouble

We are singlehandedly dragging the standard of the competition down. The last two games were diabolical shitfests. Matthew Clarke being arrogant just allowing this disgusting spare in defense fest against us which makes it completely unwatchable. Should cop a ban for bringing the game into disrepute

His focus given what is happening in his personal life surely can not be 100% on coaching, I said it before the season started he should’ve looked to take a break and focus on his family instead.

Terrible match, and another absolute rooting from the umpires. 25 free kicks to 12, and absolutely torched through the midfield with ridiculous HTB and holding the player calls that were consistently incorrect in Melbourne's favour. Meanwhile the Crows should have been two goals up anyway, two easy shots on goal to Gould and Ponter hitting the post was very annoying. Melbourne's first goal came from a 50m penalty that, from what I can tell, simply wasn't there. We should probably have won by five goals. Instead we kicked one in total.

The forward line isn't working, Crows. Do something to fix it up! Ponter's kicking was atrocious today, hit a Melbourne jumper uncontested every time.

Randall wanted to win, that's for sure! Super effort from her.

Hopefully we can look at at the end of the year at these last three matches as a period that we learned and grew from, rather than a harbinger of things to come.

Pretty much domination on the stats sheet except for the free kicks and stoppage clearances (yet again), but doesn’t help when you can barely find a teammate when you dispose of the ball; Biddell, Levy, Goodwin, Kustermann, Kelly & Prowse should be forced to go to the same optometrist as Ponter as they can simply not find a Crows player’s chest by hand or foot.

Clarke deserves a lot of crap for the last 3 games including when you play your 3rd game in 10 days and you only use 43 of your possible 60 interchanges. No wonder why his players couldn’t move in the last 5 minutes.

Forgot to watch the match. Sounds like that was a good thing. Were our misses forgivable?
Not really. We had some easy chances (Gould running into goal from the pocket, hits the post. Ponter marks 10m out, hits the post, Randall runs in from outside 50m but puts it across the face, Hatchard misses a couple from 30m out) and bottled all of them.

But the real irritating part of the match wasn't our shots on goal. It was our connection going forward in the first place. Just constantly hitting Melbourne jumpers, often in space on their own nowhere near a Crows player. That and the bewildering umpiring.

Honestly, Melbourne should have ended that match goalless. They shouldn't have gotten the first goal from the non-existent 50m penalty, and Bannon was fortunate to kick her goal. That was it. They had their two goals ten minutes into the match, then put the queue in the rack and didn't score another one all night, and still won.

It reminded me a bit of our 2019 round 1 match against the Bulldogs where we scored 1.11 and lost the match by a point.

Our positioning forward of the ball is really bad which is why we keep turning it over. We move the ball to spots players should be and they just aren't there. Which also gives our opponents mountains of space for their spares

As far as I can tell, we have two issues up forward. One, we often kick to places where our players aren't. Two, when we do manage to get it near a player, there is nobody else nearby to pick up the inevitable spoiled mark, and a second defender just comes and mops up.

Well that, and our entire forward line apparently put their boots on the wrong way around...

Agree, but those players I mentioned most of the time their first instinct is to just handball backwards and they can’t even hit their teammate doing that so you can’t blame those ahead of the ball for a continual simple skill error like that.

We clearly need to spend a lot more time on skill drills under pressure. Clean handballs to team mates, long effective kicks and marking a ball under lights

The AFL have gone out of their way to destroy the women’s comp. Our team will play 3 or 4 games in 14 days.
It’s disgusting.
Every club has had that this year......

You could see early on today that the Crows were clearly trying to hit up short kick-marks in the forward line. It was somewhat effective, although it didn't end up translating into goals. But when the pressure went up in the second half we went away from it entirely.
