Round 7 The Sydney Swans vs. The Geelong Cats

Can someone tell me if Barlow had ever played a game of football in his life before today? It didn't look like it. I've given up hope of him becoming an AFL footballer. Nobody can survive at this level with such poor decision making.
You have sure changed your tune. Rightfully so though, any potential he has shown has been met with zero improvement.

I think a lot of us has changed our tune regarding Eddie Barlow. So much potential being not being fullfilled there.

I just want to say a lot of my earlier anger has dissipated. Pretty embarrassing TBH.

I'm still annoyed by some of the effort, but Paul Roos has a really good way of putting things into perspective. Have a listen to his press conference. Good assessment of the game and where we stand as a club.

Oh, and also he thought joey was the most 'effective' player and mummy was probably our best midfielder with his clearance work and tackles. :D

Gotta love Roosy. :thumbsu:
MiT good to see you've cheered up;). I thought you were going to do yourself an injury a little while back...Cheer them on down at Munuka for us next week mate:thumbsu:

please please pleease dont let Barlow ever play again. He's had his chances. He was meek as a mouse today, getting run down, offering nothing in defense or attack. I'd go as far as to say he should be de-listed from here. Massive passenger.

You'll find most of my support for Barlow has been more tongue in cheek more than anything. I did still hold out hope of him taking the next step this year but not after today's effort.

Geelong love playing us, perhaps it's payback for 05, perhaps it's a sign of respect for the way we play football, but they haven't had a bad game against us for many years now. Their defensive pressure was top notch and we couldn't cope with it, not that many teams can.

Rohan showed a few things, but I think he will make way next week as some big ins come back.
My disdain for Barlow is well known around here, but I take no great delight in his poor showing today.

Don't worry, fellow swans supporters we lost to the current best team in the league + some bad umpiring, it normal.

Just a tip for next week
NO BARLOW!

I was absolutely seething, but now I realise I was probably expecting a bit too much. Was at the lions game and super impressed by our fight and resilience and then my imagination just started rolling. Spent a week talking us up in my head and thought we could get close....

I'm just going to try and forget the game, call it a outlier/exception/write-off and move on. :thumbsu:

However if they do it again, I'll be back here blowing my top off. I suppose if it comes down to that though, I won't be to only one chucking a hissy fit. :p

Yep, you can count on the fact I'll be at Manuka. :D

I was angry for about 5 mins after the game but after that i accepted that it is nigh on impossible to beat them down there in Geelong. I'm not all too worried about it now. If we got thumped by the Dogs next week and i mean losing by like 8 goals plus, then i'd be a little concerned.

The top Victorian teams are lucky that they never play down there due to the huge crowds they pull at the 'G or Etihad.

Remember what we all said coming into the month of May where we play Lions, Cats, Dogs, Freo and Hawks (a tough month in anyone's estimations). If we could win 3 of those games that is a good result and a result we should be expecting. Any more than 3 is bonus considering how badly we have played over the last few years against the Dogs and Cats.

We're still a good team boys and girls! We'll be fine this year.

I'm sick of seeing Ablett **** us up every single game. It is truly astounding to see one player play so well against the one team. He smashes us every time.

He is a ludicrously good player. The only thing against him is his dopey manager Liam Pickering pumping his tyres in the commentary box...why is he allowed to commentate Geelong games?

am i the only one thats not bummed out by this loss

Im Grumpy after every loss. You should have seen what I did at my parents place as a teenager (just) after we lost to St Kilda in 94... and we didn't win in those days at all.

Im not so pissed we lost but at how we allowed the flood gates to open. Geelong were the better side today without question but if we think were top 6 contenders than we cant allow efforts like the second half of that thirds term.

PS. Ted Richards, Pods is left footed.... attack him on the left that's the way he's going to be running around to snap on goal.

AgentS120, why do you and others get so worked up by the background noise.
Be whoever they are, they all have ties to some lot or another.

I don't know. I honestly do not know why it aggravates me so much. It just does. Fox especially. They just add nothing of value for the most part to the coverage. I like Channel 10 and Dennis Cometti. They are capable of talking impartially, intelligently and entertainingly about the game (well, most of them!). It's mostly Fox that i have a problem with. Radio commentary is great on ABC, Radio National etc.

It shouldn't bother me i know, but it does.

Bad Luck today guys. Some puzzling decisions both ways from the umps. Chapman at the City end for one.
I wouldn't be to fazed about the result , it will bear little in the long run and finals are never played at Skilled. I thought you were probably due for a down and after losing Bolton , LRT out was a blow. To be honest Scarlett has a good record on Bradshaw.
All the best , see you later in the year!

Mrs Fu has the opposite quandary AgentS120. You see, she is unable to hear the said experts tones due to some flog in a hammock barking out nonsense.

Though, while we are all sifting through the ashes of round 7 for a glimmer of goodness. I would like to thank the Geeeelong lads for pistol and mortaring our ROK during the Skilled Stadium skirmish.
I think they have cured his right foot Faux pas, slotted goal says so - no ?

Anyway, it's Toodle pip from the Fu and chin up chaps.
As LRT will be back next week to play our very own Cesar Millan to any rabid dog.:thumbsu:
