What's the consensus on Libba?

He's averaging 91 so far scoring 87, 106, 119, 108, 72, 57.
The 119 and 108 came against Gold Coast and Collingwood who have been relatively hard for fantasy mids to score against this year.

Has his role actually changed or just a couple of down games?

I'm unsure whether to upgrade him to Josh Kelly, or J.Clark to Laird (shifting Scrim/Hore onto the bench).

Libba (91) > J.Kelly (110) = 21ppg improvement
OR
Clark > Laird, gaining the difference between Scrim/Hore (70) > Laird (100) = 30ppg.

If Libba drops off then I'd be better off upgrading him, but if he averages 90 from here then better to upgrade elsewhere.

GWS have a good run but no doubt the better trade there is Clark to Laird. Get the rookies off.

Just realised I'm short of Laird... doh. Stewart it is!

In those games where he scored tons, it still appeared like he spent parts of them playing out of the forward line. Heat maps in all 6 of his games look relatively the same. It's hard to say what's changed. In the games where he tonned up I thought that the oppo team afforded more space to leading forwards at times, and Libba seemed to rest forward and run up close to the boundary to clunk marks when Dogs would surge forward. Might be a change in role or might just be less space for leads in the forward line in the last few weeks meaning he isn't getting those points when he is resting down there. I don't know this for certain though as I haven't watched every Dogs game to date. Just taking out what I got from the ones I have seen so far

So I end up stuffing the byes up most years as I really seem to struggle to field the bare minimum each week.

What is a decent split of players missing each week heading into the byes?

With my current trades I’m looking at 9,10,11 missing.

If I decide to keep Whitfield - might do the following

M. Parker -> Answerth
Drew -> J. Billings

Gets rid of another Rookie! What’s the news with Cognilio?

When I say I struggle to field the bare minimum I mean I usually do get 18 players each bye round, but it’s usually the bare minimum and don’t often get to drop any low scores off my total.

It was carnage last year though so here's hoping this year is a lot different

So if I stay strong with current trades it means I will have Dunkley at F6. Don't rate the bloke (anymore) but it's a little more bearable if he's hidden there.

May have Brodie Smith at D2 though...

Had dunkley.. hated dunkley.... traded dunkley.... but the cheaper he gets... the hate slips away piece by piece.

Shocking to think he's still on my radar. At some point these types of guys become value if for no other reason than theyre at rock bottom with a high ceiling.

If at seasons start you got offered dunkley for 200k less than boak you'd laugh all the way to the bank.

6 weeks shouldnt totally erase the 12-24months prior afterall.

Itd only take one 100+ score and watch the forum light up with calls for dunkley to be traded in haha.

I guess my point is.. dunkley at F6 should look really good to you. Not really bad. Id honestly stick with him at this price.

Yep pretty much my thinking. Up until today I was trading him and holding Drew and then I thought that was kinda stupid selling him now when he has zero value at all. If memory serves me correctly even Billings ended up OK last year once everyone dumped him.

Averaged 96 or something in his last 10 - Billings

I don't have Whit so love the current 170+ BE. If I had him though I'd be going Whit > Laird/Lloyd/Sicily this week and saving the $100K or so. Then in 2 weeks when he's dropped in price getting him back. With Scrim/Stack/Hore (most people would have at least one of these) you'll easily get him back.

Most people can't have 800k on the bench in their league match-ups too. If thats your focus I don't blame anyone going sideways...

Not to mention you would be getting Laird/Sicily at a bit of a bargain

Answerth looks the pick of the new rookies that I don't have.

Laird is great value but another week or two shouldn't affect his price. Hoping Freo keep him quiet.
As such, thinking to look elsewhere eg. Daniel or Houli.

Houli for sure

Thats the reason i have held on to him, for now

So ideally you would aim for 8/10/12 heading into the byes.
Given youll have 1-2 at least not playing at all probably something like 7/9/12 is best.

Then use the trades to get r12 bye players in during r13 and 14. Eg Macrae, Fyfe, Boak etc.

And hence r14 rookies are really valuable Eg Walsh, ROB, Tigers boys etc.
