I think he was happy to go last year but there was no interest in him and wasn't offered a contract until after trade period.Yep. It’s a problem. And a shame because I think he has a lot to offer and ultimately we will lose him.

His end of year tally has nothing to do with the point in time that I suggested he go and regain form in the VFL.Max King kicked over 50 goals last year
He played more last night than he did last week. Disagree re fatigue contributing to entry. Ross said himself that that was the directive. I think the 5 day break is a cheap cop-out, we were well managed during and after the Carlton game and without the stupid mistakes and better entry we would've won.Maybe that was because he was fatigued? He has played fewer minutes as the rounds have progressed.
Yes, it’s ok for Phillipou to go to the vfl. He’s a kid. Do we want to break him down?
Disagree fatigue had nothing to do with our terrible forward fifty execution. We picked the easier, less arduous option by bombing it long.
5 day break may not be the whole reason we lost last night, but it sure as hell didn’t help.
That's news to me, I see plenty saying he's cooked and needs a rest.I'd say most people are suggesting Phillipou should be omitted on form.
The difference with the time you suggested King should be dropped was he was still getting a decent amounts of shots on goal and we had no one to replace him.
Are you saying that Ross told them to kick it long Into F50?He played more last night than he did last week. Disagree re fatigue contributing to entry. Ross said himself that that was the directive. Meaningless if King is getting plenty of shots and missing a majority of them. Nobody to replace him? If we had smart coaches at the time we would've made it work like we've seemingly done this year. We could've replaced King for a couple of weeks but we were too stupid to think of another plan than bomb it on his head lol
Think we are going backwards if we are bringing in players like Billings this week. Bloke is vanilla as they come and needs a few good weeks in the VFL to even be considered IMO. Pou will get more room v North next week anyway so he'll play. Bytel over Billings for sure. King should come in, apparently he's ready. Windhager to come in (not as sub). Cordy out. Not sure on the others yet.
I heard it in one of the post match interviews. They wanted deeper entry in the second half. Are you saying that Ross told them to kick it long Into F50?
When did he say that, and why would he go away from the plan that has worked very well over the past 5 weeks?
So at what point did you want him dropped? His end of year tally has nothing to do with the point in time that I suggested he go and regain form in the VFL.

Early in the year when I felt he was missing too many easy shots and was struggling to hold onto the footy. So at what point did you want him dropped?
He kicked 1 goal round one and then went 4, 4, 4
He had 32 goals by round 11
Seems crazy you'd want a key forward that was kicking that many goals dropped, even if he did have games where he was missing shotsEarly in the year when I felt he was missing too many easy shots and was struggling to hold onto the footy.
That's okay, that's why this is a forum and we have different opinions. Like you disagree with my opinion that King should've gone to the VFL for a couple of weeks, I disagree with you that Phillipou should go to the VFL for a couple of weeks.Seems crazy you'd want a key forward that was kicking that many goals dropped, even if he did have games where he was missing shots
I did watch the presser, but maybe will watch it again.I heard it in one of the post match interviews. They wanted deeper entry in the second half.
Can't answer the last question, just as confused about it as you are. Thought it was odd given we should be playing to our smalls strengths ie getting the ball to ground or kicking it low inside 50.
Sorry I said RTB said it but thinking back I don't think RTB said it I think Cordy said it on radio but I will try and go back and have a look.I did watch the presser, but maybe will watch it again.
Which makes a change because I couldn’t even watch Ratts or Richo’s pressers once!
I've never said Phillipou should go to the VFL for a couple of weeks. That's okay, that's why this is a forum and we have different opinions. Not really meaningless since there is a difference between poor overall form and poor goal kicking accuracy. I'd also say the stupid call would be to still think he should have been dropped 2 years later despite us having no other fit key forwards at the time and when we have the benefit of hindsight to show his accuracy turned round for the rest of the season by backing him in. With Phillipou, his form has been going backwards the past few weeks and with other options available to play that role, there would be no harm in dropping him to the VFL where he can get some confidence back.Meaningless if King is getting plenty of shots and missing a majority of them. Nobody to replace him? If we had smart coaches at the time we would've made it work like we've seemingly done this year. Ah there you go. I said he said it, edited my post and said maybe he didn't and maybe it was someone else, but now it's confirmed lol.Yep Ross said it in his presser. Said the entries were too shallow and wanted them to go deeper but be careful what you ask for as the group is so coachable.
Eh, just opinions at the end of the day aren't they. You think it's a stupid call to suggest King needed to find better form in the two's and I think you make stupid calls regarding Billings and Pou. All good. I dont know why bringing in a fit Billings would be going backwards. Given we are 17th for inside 50 efficiency, the clean inside 50 kicking, ability to hit the scoreboard and equally good defensive/offensive running he showed in the VFL would be a good addition to the forward line and address a need. If that's vanilla, then maybe we need more vanilla attributes ups forward.
Ah there you go. I said he said it, edited my post and said maybe he didn't and maybe it was someone else, but now it's confirmed lol.
I don't agree that Billing makes more sense as the sub than anyone. I think they'd want to get some match fitness into his legs so a full game at Sandy might help
Windhager is probably due for a full game in the ones, if not then it would make sense for him to go to Sandy
I could I understand Phillipou being the sub this week.
Yeah that what I mean. If he'd had a game this week it would have helped his caseNo Sandy game this coming weekend from memory.
Maybe that was because he was fatigued? He has played fewer minutes as the rounds have progressed.

I think it's Round 9 but some saying he could be a chance this week. Given it's a Sunday 4.40 game, gives him the best chance. Is King a legitimate chance?
Could really do with him to blow out the cobwebs in this game and then impact against Adelaide

Are you saying that Ross told them to kick it long Into F50?
When did he say that, and why would he go away from the plan that has worked very well over the past 5 weeks?
King and Caminiti will make a huge difference to our structureBecause they literally played our game. If you drop it 30 meters from goal their interceptors mop it up. You have to go deeper or shallower. Take shots a long way out which is low percentage or get it within that 30 meters where you're out the back of their tall defenders but in heavy congestion. Beaten by our own playbook.
I've never said Phillipou should go to the VFL for a couple of weeks.
I do think he's a looking a little off the pace the last few weeks though for whatever reason. A week as the sub might help but I'm not fussed either way.
Ross is a big fan of his and will know how to get the best out of him I guess
