King and Caminiti will make a huge difference to our structure
Caminiti by himself last night would of made a huge difference, every high ball Membrey had two or 3 jumping on him

That get out kick like Dixon was getting out the back for them is huge. Having a tall target that outreaches the tall defenders would have made a big difference. Hammer's contested marking would have been very handy too.

Saints by 40. I have great sympathy for North, there are parallels with Saints, both being considered smaller clubs in Melbourne and deprived of success. I also like their jersey. Their supporters deserve great credit for sticking by them year after year. However, they are an horrendous team and should be cannon fodder. I wish them well in the future, but we should hammer them.

North are one of the clubs I detest the most. When I first got into footy in the Pagan era, they were joyless arrogant thugs and they've been talked about a lot less than us for folding, relocation or merging despite having a pitiful membership, boring identity in an enclosed industrial zone incapable of growth, their blue and white stripes and name are about as uninspiring as you could get. They are so dull, they once wanted to rebrand from "North Melbourne" to "North". Even their sponsor is Mazda one of the world's most bland makes of car. They are so dull, I can't even be bothered writing shit about them anymore.

About 20 years ago, a mate once sent me a monthly calendar with photos of shit streets in England: not dramatically deprived, just dog-beshat and dishevelled pavement, rusty and dog-eared signage, unloved, boring and ubernormal. I cannot find it anywhere on the Internet, this video is the closest I could get.

This is what the North Melbourne Kangaroos are to me. Urban decay.

Their "supporters" are a myth. Seriously, Gold Coast offers more to AFL.

Are you saying that Ross told them to kick it long Into F50?
When did he say that, and why would he go away from the plan that has worked very well over the past 5 weeks?

Said in the presser to get it in there
Then said has to be careful what he says as they are very coachable and they do exactly what he says

Well, no. They’ve done a lot in the NM community, and have more supporters than GC. They’ve also been talked about for relocation / merger a lot more than us.

I do think though, they’ve got an issue of bordering on insignificant, so I was glad when a coach like Clarkson went to them.

But this week they’re the opposition, so I hope we smash them

I fully agree with every point you make.

That’s the point of having a coach isn’t it?
Then he needs to send a runner to tell them to change it up - or surely we have a leader on the ground who can see if it’s not working 🙄

I love the wry smile on his face when he says that.
He is learning as much as the players, simply a different perspective on the process.

This is a great problem to have though.
Think of the corollary.
Clearly that was part of the issue with Ratts.

At the ground that was my thought...that we lack leadership when we need to drag the side over the line. It doesn't have to be a captain but it felt like a bunch of kids waiting for someone else to do something special.

A perfect example of a leader on the park was Toby Greene against the Swans, when asked after the game who’s decision it was for him to go into the centre, he said “Mine, I just thought we needed to do something different“.
Think we need someone on the field who is game/brave enough to make that same decision.

Will be interesting to see if we drop phillipou this week because he could genuinely fill his boots against this mob. Would do him the world of good. Would be a good game to bring king back as well

Steele seems a mile off everything at the moment.

Him firing at 100% would be a huge lift to the side.

He's not terrible but he was close against the Blues in the first half. He was slightly better this week but looks a bit off the pace still. Hopefully against North he shakes the last cobwebs out.

Billings has had 3 qtrs off a fracture/break and this week no game time in the vfl

If they've made king and membrey do a couple of weeks to get miles in the legs i think jack will get the same

Then again, he might get a half in the ones to get some miles in the legs and then get subbed out
Norf will struggle so will be intersting to see what does happen at selections

A loss gives the coaches an opportunity to move a few pieces around. Pretty hard to mess around with a winning side. If they wanted to get a couple in for the Adelaide game and see how they go it's not a bad time to do it.
