Crouch as Sub is pretty controversial here on BF but given the weather, the game plan of the oppo, the shape of the ground, the age and physical size of the oppo midfield players, I can understand the reason behind this selection.

sub, LOL, getting the band back together. I know Nicks is geared to lean on the senior players when under pressure to win games, but bringing in a one trick pony as sub is beyond even what I though him capable of.

With the pressure mounting, Nicks and his crew reverted to type. We saw it final quarter last week, players went defensive and the old crew gobbled up almost all the midfield minutes despite being destroyed in there. We've seen this the previous 2 years and there's a fair chance it'll continue today. Kids shunted from important roles and the 'sideways before only perfect or deep entries going forward'. Winning or losing is irrelevant, all that matters is how we go about it. And I reckon we'll be in the game for a fair while, everything in our favour in terms of availability. But doubt we can win.

If we win Nicks will get a contract extension.

I am OK with Crouch as sub. He came on late in a game early in the season (it may have been one of the trial games in the West) and racked them up, having a bit of an impact.
