Players rarely if ever get rewarded for dropping the ball/fumbling, and nor should they
I’ve watched it again.

Not a fan of his game today. But some comments about the play are very harsh in Keays.

It was very quick. He picked it up with his back to goal. Tackled immediately, ball genuinely comes out in the tackle.

Then he’s held.

Ah, no we weren't. Missed opportunities all day and still had a chance with 3 minutes to go. This is the reigning premier on their home deck. Butts and Hinge both stood up on the two most in form key forwards and kept them mostly quiet, especially 2nd half. Hawkins was invisible after half time.
Geelong didnt get out of 3rd gear, we got smashed in the air, beat up around ball, couldnt hit a target going forward, lucky the cats kicked poorly and danger went off

Geelong are a tough team. I'm not going to be too harsh on our players making mistakes under pressure or being well held.

What I absolutely cannot abide is 2 non free kicks that robbed us of a goal and resulted in a goal the other end.

9m handball for rushed behind.

Keyes holding.

There were mistakes we made, and moments a more experienced team would have ripped them apart rather than kicking straight to their defender. But that's a 4 goal turn around on absolutely shocking umpiring. It decided the game.

I only saw the second half but thought Doedee and Milera both played well

They're copping a fair bit for their games though so will watch the replay with interest.
Doedee was fine defensively, just made a couple of bad decisions by foot. Better 2nd half though. Milera was better today too. Fog and RT not competing in the air is what hurt us most, despite butchering a few chances going inside 50.

Nah we were terrible, skill, dicipline from senior players

We are one or two genuine A graders away from being a really good side

We need the likes of Izak, Rachelle, and Pedlar to take that next step to elite sooner rather than later

Way too many passengers today...yet again physically bullied out of the contest by the Cats combined with the usual inabilty to stick tackles at crunch times during the game...St Kilda a must win to save the season
We do some to have some lighter/slighter players who get brushed aside

When the game is flowing and we can use space they look fine

When it's tough in the clinches though we get outmuscled

The game was lost because our players wilt under the smallest amount of opposition pressure because they are a pack of losers. Just look at how we got flogged in the air, can't even rely on these supposedly good talls to win a contest, and can't rely on our ball users to choose an open option when guys like RT are surrounded by 4 Geelong players.

Probably because our open players aren't really open, they're standing flat footed with their fingers up each others bums so they can be ready to go 3 in at a different contest, spoil each other and allow the opposition the easy exit on the outside.

I know RT is young but I have real concerns

He plays one hood game in every four games, and when he plays poor these games have zero impact, not even creating a contest

I don't think they should have paid it. I would hate to see a player rewarded for that.

The player had the chance to execute with the game on the line and failed. He didn't deserve a do over.
A rule is a rule though. You’re just not allowed to hold a player let alone for so long, doesn’t matter what happened earlier.
