Who to upgrade this week is the big question.
Daicos/Martin- have they peaked? One more? Or even hold for bench cover?
NOD - were the two 100's a fluke? Seems like a score under 60 is more likely.
Gibcus/DeKon- probably still got some cash to make.
Ward - Think I'll have about $320K in the bank, don't know if it will be enough to get a super premo.
I'm keeping Daicos and Martin as bench cover and they will be the last to go.

I’m not saying don’t get them but balance and loading premiums towards the end of the byes will give the optimum outcome. A really bad bye round can look as low as 1,500 points which is really hard to make up no matter how good your next 2 are. Everyone else will also be improving over the next 2 as well putting you way behind.
I agree some players are just too good to turn down though and you still have to get at their lowest point. It will be interesting to see if more nearly complete teams this year means the bye impact is lessened.
Im pretty sure come round 1 you will see most teams (the ones that actually follow SC) will have 90% of the team the same

Even now i would say most teams have 15/16 players the same and in 4 weeks that will get to 20
the only planning that will be done is with the rookies and even there everybody wants the same rookie

Nobody is going to hold a player bleeding cash whilst the premo they want will just increase

Exactly what i believe

Yep.

Like are you really going to pass up Cripps this week at 520k who looks like averaging 120 purely because he has a bad bye (Rd 12) or are you paying up for Braysh for example whos 60k more and won’t average as much. Or you getting Titch / Wines etc instead, like no you ain’t.

Get the best available and cop the 60 point rookie. Cripps in the remaining 15 rounds will easy make you up 4 points per game.

I think that’s the way I’m leaning. Also I feel like there are more options down back so Zorko not a must have. Parker could be.
I'm strongly considering bringing Parker in next week, even though his value won't be that great anymore. He'd be M8 and Martin F6, so either both lines, or my choice of which one, would effectively be complete.

I’m ngl, Parker at 70k more than he was start of last round is a hard sell.

105 averaging forward yes but will be 550k at that point.

He'll be a keeper that likely won't get much cheaper. Will still be $40k cheaper than his starting price and is proven to be more durable than someone like Heeney.

You can't always get players when they bottom out, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get them before they max out. If they're a keeper, and Parker is, you should be looking to get them for as cheap as you can.

Last week it was Mills or Parker. This week it was Short or Parker. Mills will have increased in price by more than Parker over that 2-week period, and this week Short has a lower BE.

OK .....follow my logic

I can get both Cripps and Parker .....Cripps the biggest scorer & will go up $40K after this round, 46% ownership ....logic says follow & not allow 46% a continued advantage

The flipside ....Parker is still a POD ....has the dual position, which is invaluable, as I cash DPP rookies in

Parker to ave 105-108 for the season .....just plays every week ?
Cripps to ave 115+ ....but still has that injury ??

On the basis of climbing rankings ....who do you choose ?
I'd pick the premo which takes your worse rookie off the field.

I can't understand the people bringing in Wines.

Why would you take the risk with someone who was troubled by a heart condition only 4 weeks ago?

Yes he is cheap for his output but you would want to be confident that he is going to play every game from now on.

I'd be more confident with him after the heart scare than I would be with a soft tissue injury. Do you think Port's club doctor, Wines' cardiologist, and Ollie himself would have even considered giving him the green light to play again if there was any, even slight, risk to his cardiovascular health?

I actually believe that when the good teams are complete they will have enough cash generation to have a 'Spare Premo or 2"

Yes.
May never be an issue again.

I'm actually more worried about Patty Cripps hammy that he mysteriously only missed a week with.

Wanted to get the weakest rookie off the ground.
Just happened to be Sam Hayes. He moves to R3. Preuss goes to R2.

Also wanted to get the best SC player in the game. Killing two birds with one stone.

Feel good, man!

It wasn't a serious injury. He could have played the next week.
Guarantee you he would have if it was a final.

Definitely. My' complete' team I refer to I should be able to reach with 10 trades remaining (and that includes upgrading Martin), pending injuries. And I should still have quality on the bench to turn into an extra premo or 2, like you say.

I'm no covid expert but recent studies have come out that there have been increased cases of myocarditis and pericarditis, which have been reported after the second dose of the mRNA vaccine. It is particularly seen in males under 30 years old. Most cases are mild and patients have recovered quickly. Straight from the healthgov website.

Wines fits the bill for all of that. It's why we are seeing heart irregularities more and more often. I doubt it's a worry at all tbh and I'd be super confident he will be fine.
