I'd really like Parker, but fixing up my defence seems like the most sensible move. Plus, I'd rather trade NOD than Rachele. Rachele's BE is shite, but he has got more room for growth, whereas NOD is likely close to maxed out.

NOD > Short
Berry > Clark

That seems like the most sensible move. I could go McComb and wait until next week to get Clark, but having to pick someone to field out of McComb and my MID/FWD benches is a pretty grim task.

Anyone see any reasonable alternative moves?
Slight adjustment, now I'm thinking Rachele out this week rather than NOD because he will lose slightly more cash. Also think McComb in rather than Clark.

I've crunched the numbers and it means I could boost and get Parker, Clark and Carroll next week for Ward, Dixon, and NOD.

That does seem suboptimal given my D4-D6 is Bowey, Blakey, and Daicos, but it means the rest of my team (barring Preuss) is complete. I'll reassess after I see how Clark scores this weekend and potentially look at Pendles instead of Parker, but they'll be around the same price and I think Parker will score better. Docherty should bottom out the week after, but I might be relying on a Khamis debut in the near future to do the downgrade required to switch one of my midpriced defenders to him.

Is it a bad idea to sideways Bailey Smith for Tom Stewart?

Tough one. Probably, but can see the logic.
Yeah, defense is easily my weakest line, and my midfield is finished. This trade would now have Clark as my M8, but now Daicos is D6 instead of D5 with O'Driscoll off field instead of D6. Better for my structure, but I only brought Smith in two weeks ago, so feels like completely wasted trades.

As if you were going Darcy to Gawn when Gawn was avg 90 and the get rid of target for every moran out there.

Not hard to believe considering it was out of Gawn and I think NicNat pre-injury at the time, especially after his price drop in Rd 3. I was laughing at the spuds trading out Gawn to Jackson etc. But obviously you and your ESP mind reading abilities know more than what I myself was thinking. Surely I would have never done something like this in the 12 years I have been playing SC. :$ :$ :$ :$ :$ :$ :$

Want to hold remaining boosts ....the complicating issue is I already have too many R12 Bye players .....all 4 DEF Premo's are R12 ....bringing in Cripps adds a further R12 Bye player + Steele

Do I accept R12 as a write-off ? .....and still get Cripps
I think we are all going to accept 1 round as a write off due to the players we have that we want to keep and the premo setup we end up with

Just look at it as a 3 game average and at the end of the day thats exactly what it is

Tanking one of the bye rounds, especially 12, can severely dent your ranking. A solid round 12 is a big advantage as those people can trade through 13 and 14 to keep the scoring up. Tanking a round will nearly always lose out significantly to 3 solid rounds. Sometimes it can’t be avoided though.

Especially tanking the first bye.

But i dont believe thats going to be possible

By round 12 its looking like most people will have their teams 90% complete with the players they want to keep

Backs : Short , Sicily , Docherty , Stewart , Hewett etc
Mids: MaCrae , Steele , Cripps , Neal , Touk , Green , Oliver etc
Fwd': Cogs. Dunkley , or who ever you want

My point is do you not get them until after your bye ?
Price gets effected and losing points long the way

Way too hard to arrange perfectly
Can only hope the rookie's on the bench are playing that week

**** the byes mate, this year is completely different to most.

Teams will be completed much faster which means there is a premium on getting the rolled gold guys regardless of bye as they will be in your team for longer and scoring more points compared to other players as a result.

As long as you’re not dropping 500 points down on that bye week I see no issue. Can’t wait around for the perfect opportunity to buy them post bye, it’s already too late.

I’m not saying don’t get them but balance and loading premiums towards the end of the byes will give the optimum outcome. A really bad bye round can look as low as 1,500 points which is really hard to make up no matter how good your next 2 are. Everyone else will also be improving over the next 2 as well putting you way behind.
I agree some players are just too good to turn down though and you still have to get at their lowest point. It will be interesting to see if more nearly complete teams this year means the bye impact is lessened.
