He was injured - like many of our first-choice players today.
We've got around half a side out injured . Plus one or two who looked to be carrying . A side where we are on the ladder hasn't any hope of beating anyone under those circumstances so I think they did a good job . Injuries sap confidence

I think so too, martinson. We only lost by 20 points, and realistically were in it until the last 5 mins.

The game was ours to win and we couldn't do it (too many errors), but overall I thought it was an excellent effort, considering.

Look at our captains body language near the centre of screen. What kind of example is he setting for our young team? Pretty well sums up where the playing groups spirit is.

FFS really? really going to go to this level to find something to whinge about?

He's captain and spiritual leader - he's not Mr invincible and capable of hiding his emotions. It's his heart and love for the club which wins people over and sees him loved by players and fans alike.

This is nothing more than petty

Perchance, do you have a frame of Christensen kicking for goal and poking his tongue out as well?

What kind of example is that setting to people who are showing up to the game?

Oh noes... sack the 25 year old because he showed some emotion after a goal was kicked on us...

I watch the highlights and after a Saints goal I see someone acting as if their mother just died after a long health battle and am then shocked to see its our captain. He's supposed to inspire not act like the world is going to end. How are the kids meant to have the confidence to run hard and take the game on after seeing this.

He's shown time and time again whether on the field or leaks from the club that he hurts when the team doesn't perform. He's close to the club, no idea why you would lock in on that reaction that something is amiss.

Things confirmed today. Aish is shit. Green needs to find ways to get into the game. Bewick makes horrid decisions with the ball. Rich is lazy. Zorko has to be dropped most dissapointing player this year. Dawson is very very slow but young. Leuy has to be traded. Taylor needs to do damage with possessions not chip backwards. Zac o'brien must never play Afl ever again, anywhere anyhow. Leppa needs to rip into the umps and cop the fine-they kill us every week.we need 2 guns bought in over summer. It has sucked being a lions supporter for a long time now.

Squizzy's backward chips in the first quarter, and the whole teams willingness to move backwards then around to come forward what what gave us the romping start to the game IMO.

So nobody else was surprised to see that reaction from our captain?

For a moment I thought this was just some elaborate joke on your part, now I realise you are actually being serious! Oh dear........ jeez, if that's how you see the world then good luck with that!

Yes, I had to balance everything.

Taking a shot at the captain in a very specific frame after a goal is kicked is highly intelligent.

1. How dare I question our amazing leader. He's perfect.
2. It wasn't a frame it was an action. Our young playing group is extremely low on confidence and Rocky has to inspire them.

If I was on the footy field and saw my captain react like that to a goal when the game was in the balance it would seriously hurt my confidence that we had any chance to win.

You wouldn't have seen Browny react to an opposition goal like this.

I had a bad feeling about this Game.

As I have said the last few weeks, the effort and intent was there, we are just a young team beaten on the day.

You could see once the injuries set in that we were in big trouble, we looked very unorganized in defence on several occasions, goals came pretty easily. In all reality it actually could have been a 6 goal win to them. It felt like a 6 goal win.

Their scattering of experienced players around the ground really set them apart from us today I felt.

It's really the same old story, win a couple and fill our hearts with hope, then slump back into our old ways for 5-6 weeks, not before another little revival takes place later in the year where we end up with 6-10 wins.

Lester was awesome. We are a better side without Bewick on the field I think he is just about done (I don't like his body size or game) and I'm not convinced about ZOB.

Umpires.. Were.. Terrible. What have we done to get this treatment?, do they view us as a team that needs to be 'umpired'? I don't get why we get it so bad each week. There were about 10 occasions I was left in shock, sitting there shaking my head.

All in all though - another year defined by horrendous injury, inconsistent performance and loses. But we are a young team, missing vital pieces, that can be good enough once we get it together.

The more you write, the more it looks like you're digging really hard to find something negative to say about the game today.

ZOB's shocking kick turnover at the top of our attacking 50 resulting in a quick slingshot goal bothered me a hell of a lot more.

Actually wasn't that terrible a performance if you consider the circumstances. Yes, the Mozzie Squad is looking a bit flat most of the time this year, but we are still a young team. Our injuries also don't do us justice either.

Still, can't wait for the bye. The next month for the lions is gonna test them.

Yeah it's been really hard trying to find something negative to say about how we played today.

I wasn't didding I watched the highlights and was shocked to see such terrible body language from our captain. Clearly others think it's fine for our captain to act like that at a crucial stage of the game. We'll disagree then.
