I had a bad feeling about this Game.

As I have said the last few weeks, the effort and intent was there, we are just a young team beaten on the day.

You could see once the injuries set in that we were in big trouble, we looked very unorganized in defence on several occasions, goals came pretty easily. In all reality it actually could have been a 6 goal win to them. It felt like a 6 goal win.

Their scattering of experienced players around the ground really set them apart from us today I felt.

It's really the same old story, win a couple and fill our hearts with hope, then slump back into our old ways for 5-6 weeks, not before another little revival takes place later in the year where we end up with 6-10 wins.

Lester was awesome. We are a better side without Bewick on the field I think he is just about done (I don't like his body size or game) and I'm not convinced about ZOB.

Umpires.. Were.. Terrible. What have we done to get this treatment?, do they view us as a team that needs to be 'umpired'? I don't get why we get it so bad each week. There were about 10 occasions I was left in shock, sitting there shaking my head.

All in all though - another year defined by horrendous injury, inconsistent performance and loses. But we are a young team, missing vital pieces, that can be good enough once we get it together.
We've got no marking forwards and hardly any backs due to injury so we get outbustled . The reason we kept going round in circles was because we had no targets . I don't know whether they underestimated what a massive loss Patfull would be but he is

I really don't know where we go from here with the injuries today on top of the lot we've already got.

If we could get near our best ream on the park we would be competitive but that's not going to happen this year

The more you write, the more it looks like you're digging really hard to find something negative to say about the game today.

ZOB's shocking kick turnover at the top of our attacking 50 resulting in a quick slingshot goal bothered me a hell of a lot more.

Why are you constantly drilling people for having a 'negative' point of view? It's a forum where a range of ideas are discussed. It gets really boring, worst part about this entire board.

Either disagree, agree or ignore the comment and stop moderating peoples right to have a particular out look on the game or the team.

This poster has an issue with our captains body language, let them raise it with out having to worry about 'captain rationale' flying in to pull him up.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.

There are other things that are/were real negatives. You've taken a moment and blown it out of proportion without much context.

Nothing new though; our forwards and backs are depleted and were always going to struggle, our mids can't hand any pressure and our ball movement is very inconsistent.

This was the first time I saw a clear indication from one of our leaders that the playing group had no confidence even to beat a team like St Kilda and I found it interesting and surprising.

Thought we tried our best to play to our strengths. We're not going to win games with the players we currently have available by kicking it long. I really liked our endeavour in trying to run the ball even if it didn't come off every time.

Allowing St K to kick all of those crumbing goals/goals 5-10m out really made it tough.

Hanley Merrett and even Patfull. What a boost they would be for us right now.

Look at our captains body language near the centre of screen. What kind of example is he setting for our young team? Pretty well sums up where the playing groups spirit is.

Our captain was playing in a world of pain today. We sit right above the interchange bench and every time Tom came off he was carrying his right arm in a way that looked like those ribs are a long way from right.

If it were just me doing it, this would be a great post.

Yep +1 on this. Was watching it all day. He's quite a way off being 100% fit. Was bent over at times trying to suck in air.

FFS really? really going to go to this level to find something to whinge about?

He's captain and spiritual leader - he's not Mr invincible and capable of hiding his emotions. It's his heart and love for the club which wins people over and sees him loved by players and fans alike.

This is nothing more than petty
Bloody oath!! This was a cheap low shot. Real supporters stick together and take the punishment and store it not turn on each other and their own. Be a man and take it back.

Was Mayes fit? If so why didn't he play?

The Saints aren't THAT bad and have turned it around massively since last year and good on them...But man some of our skills, handballing and luck with injuries makes me wonder why I support this club :(
Because you are a true supporter and because you enjoy pain.

Giants, Bulldogs, Crows, Dockers, Swans. Anyone think we can win any of those

Man, 2 weeks ago i was thinking we'd be 4-5 at this moment or at least 3-6.

I'd like to think we can have a fair crack against the giants, dogs and crows. Odds will increase if we can get a few players back from injury.

Bye can't come quick enough, players need a rest and we need some players back desperately. Hanley is the big difference maker for me, he's our best player, the areas in which he gets so much of the ball in are the areas in which we make so many turnovers without him.

I reckon we can take the Dogs if we get a few players back.

I'd be happy to get within 5 goals of the first three and I'd be happy for us to kick 5 goals against the last 2.

We have Carlton and Gold Coast at home in August probably our best chances to get another win.

What about Melbourne?
