N.Robbo and Lester were great today. my other votes went to Christensen, Martin and Beams.

Squizzy is a mess with the ball. Has no idea what to do with it sometimes. Major lack of awareness by our players where the ball will end up post contest. Saints ran away with it again which is a common problem all year. Rockliff needs to be 100% midfield. Set up most of our goals. Andrews and Clarke are cooked. They will be gunning for the bye.

Really tough for our defenders at the moment. I don't think we had any who'd played over 50 games left by the end.
Hard for us to cope with at moment. We were essentially down two players for a fair amount of time(C Beams was only there to make up the numbers). As poor as we were in the last 3 quarters, Riewoldt was the difference between the two sides in the end. That and a couple of bad mistakes from Bewick.
Aish and Christensen were better this week at least. Best game Lester has played. He's shown flashes of brilliance in the past but hasn't been able to capitalise. I don't think anyone would've seen this coming.

Today just showed what it's like to be following the Lions since 2005....Especially 2015..
We'll get there...Someday...

Perspective people, perspective!

Today sucked - but patience is needed. We had an insanely young side out there which then copped injuries to senior players in Harwood, Adcock and Beams. We also went in to the game knowing we were vastly undersized, and that running and quick ball movement were needed. It becomes tricky to maintain quick ball movement when you are down on rotations and playing midfielders out of the goalsquare because they can't run.

We are having a tough run with umpires, but when you miss a simple target and force a tired player to turn and have to dive on a ball you are vulnerable to poor umpiring calls. (They do seem to make it up as they go along for our games) As bad as the umpiring is, it is not why we are losing.

Injuries are our biggest enemy at the minute - we must have run over an entire family of black cats. And many of them are for reasons beyond the control on the fitness team so no point making Burton a scapegoat.

Have patience people, our time will come

Seriously though we're a rubbish club from the top down. Even after we got Beams and Bundy and the AFL organised for Swann to come to us. We're stuck in the same position as Melbourne, Carlton and Richmond have been in for the last 10 years or so and it will take some sort of miracle for us to become a credible footy club again. Just everything about the club is awful and it's tough to see where any significant improvement is gonna come from. 1 finals appearance in 10 years and it's tough to see us making another appearance in the next 10 years. Definitely my last attendance for the season. Hopefully something happens to give me a false sense of hope before next year.

Robinson was great against Port, but I'm not sure he deserves to stay in the side based on his last couple of games.

I don't think I've been so disappointed in a loss for years. We were a better team than them used that and our run to destroy them in the first and then stopped running. A few crumbed goals over the back and we couldn't get our run back. I hate it when we win and all anyone talks about is how the other team lost it, so it would be unfair to Saints fans to say the same thing here, they fought their way back into it and then past us, and we could not regain the momentum.

Extremely average footballer. Doesn't come close to getting a game in a team pushing for the eight.

Zorko, Aish, Taylor should play NEAFL next week. Hang on we have no players left

Harsh on Taylor. Zorko and Aish? Yeah, if we had depth left they'd be in the 2's next week. Zorko is a shadow and Aish's main play is bombing it around his body from the backline so he can watch it come flying back into our defensive 50 5 seconds later.

All in all, a good first quarter and a horrible remainder of the match. More injuries, more concerns, more issues to work on.

Leppa got out coached today as well.
