Looks like Rockliff broke his rib.

Understandably hunched over for much of the day.

Was watching him come off the ground all day. At one stage he was doubled over as soon as he came off. Thought in that moment he may have re-injured himself. Courageous stuff.

Look at our captains body language near the centre of screen. What kind of example is he setting for our young team? Pretty well sums up where the playing groups spirit is.

Yes because a still frame with no context is evidence. You've missed your calling as hack journalist from the courier mail.

Never expected a win with Luey being your number one forward but it's still very disappointing that we conceded so many cheap goals. Still happy with the effort. Andrews, Lester and Beams were real standouts.

Squizzy's backward chips in the first quarter, and the whole teams willingness to move backwards then around to come forward what what gave us the romping start to the game IMO.
And the last 3 quarters? Slows the tempo which does not suit us at the moment with lack of talks up front IMO. I love when he runs and carries-towards our goals.

If I see Lewy Taylor U-Turn again, I will lose it. He does it far too often.

Umpire Ryan and Ryan (14 and 25) can get stuffed!

I thought Paparone and Andrews did well on Riewoldt, he skated by for a few cheapies and broke out the back a couple of times. Rocky was brave, Dayne Beams should be the B&F this season, he is amazing.

If you had bothered showing me a clip with some context I might've considered giving you some more credit, but you've plucked the worst image you could and made a song and dance about it. Your reaction to this is akin to some kind of atrocity against his team mates, as if showing his disappointment for a moment makes him disgusting and unworthy of being a leader, and if that isn't the intention of your post it's certainly how it's come across.

What I'd be more interested in from a Captain of a team I played in or a team I supported is what he does with the next 30 seconds after the head drop. Does he sulk away to the benches? Or does he grit his teeth and try to motivate his players to lift their heads. Because we all drop our heads at moments during games, especially if we feel personally responsible for what just happen. The real test of character is what you do after that.

Not sure what you expect? That a first year Captain should be able to completely conceal his emotions? Courage isn't that lack of fear, it's managing that fear and rising above it. In this context perhaps leadership isn't the lack of weakness or doubt, but managing those emotions and rising above them - and encouraging your teammates to do the same.

It was poor body language and i was correct that something had happened but was wrong in thinking he had been mentally broken from low confidence when he had in fact broken a rib again which must be quite difficult for him.

You may as well post a picture of one of our players standing there with no expression on their face and point to it as obvious proof that they don't care.

Looking back on the game it seems to me that I am most disappointed by the loss mostly because of how we started the game. Our first quarter was outstanding. A 22 point loss overall isn't too bad considering the injury list and injuries during the match. We really just couldn't contain Riewoldt and had nobody up forward that could do what he did. Some really admirable performances from some of our guys but some terrible performances as well. I certainly feel like we have a lot of talent at the club but we just can't keep them on the field.

We've got no marking forwards and hardly any backs due to injury so we get outbustled . The reason we kept going round in circles was because we had no targets . I don't know whether they underestimated what a massive loss Patfull would be but he is

I really don't know where we go from here with the injuries today on top of the lot we've already got.

If we could get near our best ream on the park we would be competitive but that's not going to happen this year

It'll make the paper(s) that's for sure.

....any wonder. I think you would be looking like that too if you had a broken rib and trying to play a game of football.. Yes again!

He was probably doubled over in pain.

I feel like if Rocky was playing with a broken rib since 10 minutes into the first, we are lucky to have him associated with our club in any way.
I reckon the young blokes in the team would see this as truly courageous and inspirational. A real leader and great example of an elite footballer.
