The key for this game, more than any other, will be a fast start to get a really good lead like West Coast did against Collingwood last week and then reduce the game time of the likes of Neale, Zorko, McCluggae and even Andrews and Gardiner who've had high TOG numbers.

Appreciate it is easier said than done.

Collingwood led the game from the first siren until about a third of the way in to the second quarter. Then they stopped playing and West Coast kicked the next dozen or so.

Right, didn't watch it, but David King was spouting this strategy on AFL360 last night with some fancy graphs and you know, he sucked me in.

The same David King who said McStay was millimetres away from putting Jetta in a wheelchair. Absolute flog that guy.
He was actually demonstrating how caring McStay was - McStay carries around a wheelchair in his back pocket just in case anyone needs it, and his hand was millimetres away from pulling it out for Jetta to take to the side line.

...right?

Thanking for shining a light on the real David King, next you’ll tell me Robbo isn’t drunk half the time on 360 and doesn’t have a bombers bias

Great to see the ticket seating allocation has changed radically for the Bulldogs
I would have been happy if they went for the 6 person interchanges but the AFL don't seem keen for that. Would make sense with all the games in a row and would let us play some youngins.
The AFL will not increase the interchange numbers
Any coach calling for a change only has to look at their own Clubs numbers for the year and they will see why this won't happen
They talk about injuries and all sorts of other things.
I have noted that when injuries occur during the game this year the interchange numbers either don't change or are in fact less.
Take the Lions for example with Rich going down just after half time.
We only used 65/90 interchanges
Our season is 539/720.

Just last night the Bulldogs lost Suckling to a hammy early in first quarter.
They used 71/90
For the year 651/810

Then of course the Clubs still persist with taking players off when the score a goal.
I would like to see the "youngins" also. But they will get a chance with the way the season unfolds

Good starts have been a key to winning games this year.
Or another way to look at it is a bad start is difficult to peg back
So a happy medium is stay in contact early and slowly draw away as the game unfolds
The Lions have done all of these in 2020 so hopefully we continue.
Geelong during the third quarter was out of character so hopefully we have learned from that.

I can't work miracles... :(

Actually your not. I’m the captain of this fan club. Don’t coming jumping on our wagon now.

Actually I think I am, I went and watch his first pre-season and pretty sure posted something about what a nice kid he seemed and how big he was back then even in his draft year. I've followed him on Instagram from the beginning and have exchanged comments with his family. Not that I care who claims to have followed him the most I just bloody glad he gets another go, no one has done the hard yards like he has at our club for many years , if ever a draftee has hung in for so long. I hope he gets both games McStay is out for to show what he can offer. Go Sammy.

Any criticism that may have surrounded Skinner mainly centres around the mythology of his ability that might have built up over the years. He played one game, kicked two goals and downed Schofield (or was it MacKenzie?) in a brutal tackle. "'Twas a fine debut, English, but 'tis no career".

Like a few who've trod the path of having both prodigious talent and injury-prone bodies (I'm thinking Luke Forsyth, Cal Bartlett among others), they'll have their supporters and among those some who'll try to gain some extra credit by forming bandwagons. I could certainly be labelled as being keen supporters of all three of the aforementioned.

Any idiot can see the potential in Skinner, but at the same time you can't blame people for wanting a bit more of a sample size. After all, there have been some amazing debuts over the years that preceded decidedly mediocre careers.
We must remember Skinner was recruited as a key position back and played reserve grade as such and when he got his first game it was in the forwards and the debut was pretty good even for a forward prospect. On returning from injury each time he was still playing in the backs and it was only really last year in the NEAL he was moved forward more permanently as Payne and Eagles could cover the back half and I guess he was seen as potential cover as a key forward. He had a good year last year as a forward and Fagan was praising him by the end of the season so he has been in plain view quite a while now. He may not have the mobility around the ground McStay has but you can bet when he crunches the first tackle there will be players after then looking at where he is and thinking twice about taking him on. I really hope he goes well, he is what the club is about these days - hard work and persistence. PS - does anyone remember the talk about him being recruited as he was friends with Schache, there as a picture on his social media of them playing monopoly together or some board game before he came.

Who goes to Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti? Has a bad habit of causing us problems.

Birchall too slow, Witherden ditto, Ah Chee or Answerth(if selected) may be the options.

I mean it's me, Wayne Carey!

The same Wayne Carey who slept with my teammates wife?!?

Ugh no, I meant Phil Inn.

The same Phil Inn who fouled me in basked ball?!?

Nice story from Cam Rayner about Mitch Robinson

I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t a fan of getting Robbo in when all the talk of him coming to us was circulating but I truly believe he has been one of the all time great additions to our club. Absolute warrior on the field but he also seems to put in so much time with the boys away from the club! especially the young guys! He is the glue that holds a lot of the fella’s together!!
Hopefully he steps into a welfare role with us one his playing days are up!

We 100% owe him and his family a lot for our recent improvement in player retention. His partner and him open their home like its a second footy hub for the club.
