Haven't we proved though that Eric, Joe and Dan are super average in the ruck.
I think we ruck Oscar in the middle and around the ground and Dan forward of Centre/forward 50.

Fages said 5 tall forward/rucks would upset our balance, obviously he thinks one of or a mixture of those 3 can provide suitable ruck relief for O or Fort.
Surely we cant want Eric to ruck, he's not built for it and he'd get beaten up( Jarryd Brennan comes to mind) Dan.....possible.....not great. Joe......been there, pretty bad.

OK, How about this, we do a Dan Bradshaw and McStay takes Darcy Gardiners spot and plays down back. I really don't know. But I know if we play McStay, Joe, Hippy, Linc, Rainer and Charlie they're ALL high marking aerialists. I'd just worry that the 3 talls would stifle Linc, Charlie and to some extent Rainer.

Yeah would really suck having 6 forwards who are strong overhead. Lets drop a few

Personally i think they would create opportunity for the smalls

Playing Eric, Joe and Dan together with only Oscar as a recognised ruck can't possibly work. Its not like we were 10-1 with that line up last year, with an average winning margin of 6 goals, with out only loss being to Melbourne when we were up by 20 points at half time.

Its also not like we also thumped fellow top 4 teams Port and geelong as well as finalists GWS and Essendon in that streak of games either.

The 3 “small’s” that you’ve mentioned alongside Bailey and Zorko are also great at ground level which is where we get most of our goals. McStay is great at bringing the ball to ground so we need him there, Daniher can turn a game on his own with his pack marking and movement at his size and Hipwood was starting to show he could do what Daniher is doing before he went down injured. It’s the most dangerous forward line in the comp by a fair margin and I wouldn’t even think about changing it to fit in a second ruck that might play 25-30% gametime in the ruck when everyone is available.

Short memories.

Berry moving to tag Dawson clearly affected our wing rotations in the second half which is why it gets a little random at times.

We've played three talls for years at this point, whether it was Dan and Eric with some combination of Oscar (while we had Stef), Joe (after he joined post-Stef), or Joe, Dan and Fullerton last year after Eric's injury, or Payne replacing Dan after his injury, or this year's combos of Darcy, Dan and Joe, and now Darcy, Eric and Jack. Surely evidence of stifling would have shown up by now.

Ah Chee’s an interesting one. Why was he only playing on the wing when we were kicking to the right of screen??

We also kicked 11 of our 16 goals when he was playing on the wing.

Could we chuck McStay out on a wing Matthew Richardson style? He has the fitness and it would give us another tall option further up the ground.
