Re: Hawks vs Tigers

Looking forward to getting into the G this arvo.

Not looking forward to trying to find a car park but that will all be forgotten when they bounce the ball.

Taking a mate's old man which is a good omen as the last game I went to with him was the 2008 GF.

Thanks for putting up that team again GRizz. I just loooove reading that back line - the three G's. Best last line of defense we,ve had since the immortal Collins, Langford Ayres combo! Hope we can keep them together all season, will be super important running into September.

.

Train and pub is always a great option. Unless you are coming with kids.

Hawks by 30pts. Tiges to compete well although ultimately beaten by Hawks class in fwd half (Fraklin, Rioli, Roughead, Bruest)...

Go hawkers...

If you like symetry we could move Birch to the wing and Suckers to HBF and have 3 "S" across half back too!

Best not to move Birch though!

Im expecting a solid 5 goal win today as i think we have no excuses at this point with hodge being really the only one out of our best 22. Richmond are slowly improving but i would be very disappointed today losing to them. My biggest concern is usually when im this confident....we play ordinary lol!

What about that back 6! That defense right there, in the last 2 weeks it has conceded 49 and 63 points, Ranked #1 in the league during that time. :thumbsu: So no surprises there really as that our strongest back 6 we have had for the year. :)

It's fantastic to see just how quickly Roughead, and more recently Gillham have slotted back in to the first 22. Very promising. Hodgey definitely is now the missing link...

Does anyone knos if todays game is a replacement? For some reason i think it is??!? But website says no!

Excitement builds. Massive danger game for us I think, Tigers have steadily improved and have the midfield to cause us problems. They will struggle with goals though I think against that backline - how great is it to see that back three with Shoey and Stratts for good measure? Solid.

For those thinking of driving - all the MCG car parks are shut due to the rain. You'd be mad not to park at a station a bit further out and train in to the ground I think.

I might go have a flutter on Roughie to kick most goals today...

What's our recent record against them like? Did I read somewhere that we've beaten them 7 out of the last 8 times, or thereabouts? That surprises me slightly, they seemed to bob up and beat us slightly more regularly than that. Maybe that's because that loss to them late in our flag year sticks out in the memory, plus they beat us in the NAB this year.

Just watched the 2010 head to head replay on Fox......my alleged God we were terrible. I hope Youngy puts some sticky resin on his hands today ffs.
Looking forward to today's game....

Got a good feeling that we will blow out some cobwebs & play as a cohesive unit today - might even kick straight too!

It won't be our best effort for the year but I am confident we will crush them at times. The score line will probably flatter them but I see us getting up by 6-8 goals. Half that if it rains.
