The peanuts who continue to think how a team lines up on a Thursday night is how it will line up on Sunday.

It just continues to amaze me....

Bailey will play and will ruck. Will start rough against Mummy due to the physical nature of mummy. Breust will play on previous form and potential(Sub). Cyril back in the forward line is exciting along with breust is super exciting.
Shoey will play and would be good to match up on Ried with Gibbo going to the most dangerous forward. Swans will stretch up with talls but that is OK with Shoey mobile and good leap, gibbos mobile and good leap, Murphy will be given a role and as long as he doesn't get isolated will be fine. Lewis on the bench as well. Lisle might play but depends on the shoey case.

No Ladson yet, needs another run in the 2s, Young no.

Jordan Lewis - Played a quality game last week.
Luke Breust - Surely cannot be dropped after 2.2 and plenty of possessions?
Max Bailey - Roughy will need relief at some point.
Ryan Schoenmakers - See above possibly, or more likely matchup with Goodes or Everitt.
Rick Ladson - with Cyril coming in I don't know whether he is needed, even though he put in a good performance at BH last week.
Jordan Lisle - unlikely.
Clinton Young - not this week.

The conundrum is who would be the sub?

I think Breust might me the sub. He played a full game last week.

I have doubts on Rioli and think Schoey will come instead.

Oh if we were only all as wise as you...if you don't like team talk on a Thursday perhaps you shouldn't religiously observe and comment on the thread each week!
Will be sure to ask for your permission next time!

They pick themselves: Bailey, Schoenmakers, Breust and Lewis.

A perfect mix of height and speed.

I think that Lewis or Bruest (obvoiusly) will get the sub as Lewis came on against Melbourne(???) and ripped it up, but Bruest was sub last week so i guess he would be favourite.

CARN THE HAWKERS!!!:footy::footy::footy:

Your obviously one of the peanuts I was talking about. Never said I didn't like team talk did I?

People are shitting their pants that Murphy will play full back because he's named there for crying out loud!

People need to wake up!

Expect we will see:

FB: Thomas Murphy, Ryan Schoenmakers, Paul Puopolo

HB: Matt Suckling, Josh Gibson, Grant Birchall

C: Shane Savage, Sam Mitchell, Chance Bateman

HF: Luke Hodge, Lance Franklin, Brendan Whitecross

FF: Michael Osborne, Jarryd Roughead, Shaun Burgoyne

Foll: Max Bailey, Brad Sewell, Liam Shiels

I/C: Jordan Lewis, Brent Guerra, Luke Breust + Rick Ladson

I would have thought Breust again, possibly to sub Cyril off if he can't go the distance.

Big Max?! Nice one :thumbsu:

Schoenmakers also. :thumbsu:

Be good if both these guys can get a game.
common sense suggests they both should be in, as another poster has said bailey should be listed as 1st ruck and schoey CHB, atm im still not sure whos def in.

Think Schoey just insurance mate- will in all likelihood be emergency, just in case Big Max is feeling a bit sore prematch
we lost 2 talls last week with 1 tall already out and you think schoey will be an emergency?, unless you know something the rest of us dont it will be stupidity if he doesnt play.

This looks like fun; after gazing into my crystal ball this is what I see, some pessimism I am afraid.
I must add I know nothing! I also hope both Puopolo & Cyril play in the place of Laddo and Bruest. I think we need cover for Bailey going down and that is Lisle.
Thursdays present so many possibilities hey Henry Jr.

WTF? I'm out with general soreness? I don't even remember pulling a hammie... :p

Agent Smith shall now go into enforced hibernation until my next call up (still, he's happy to see Big Max, Schoey and Lisle in the extended lineup).

Okay, now for some house-keeping...

Hopefully, halfback dasher reads this post as this bit is directed to him:

1. Thanks for the warm welcome to Big Footy. During my team here, I can honestly say I've been able to particularly bring to the Hawthorn forum... absolutely nothing. You can all rest assured that I plan to keep that high consistent standard during my time here.

2. I have not been able to reply to you dasher as I have had problems with my account. This means I cannot pm anyone or really do anything other than post to threads (I wasn't being a snob or anything... truly). Anyway, the admin guys are currently trying to help me work this out.

3. Why the user name Agent Smith? I was impressed with young Isaac Smith when I saw him playing in last year's VFL finals and was stoked when the Hawks picked him up. I even held off opening an account here until Zac got his first senior game with the Hawks. I set up a magnificent display pic of Zac's head photoshopped on the body of Agent Smith from the Matrix. Sadly, I can't seem to even get my display pic showing (I should be able to have one showing even tho I'm a newbie, yes? Maybe someone like grizz can answer that one).

Anyway, you'll all notice most of my posts are reasonably laid back with perhaps a bit of a smartarse bite to it... think of the kipster on a natural high. Hopefully, I'll be around for a long, long... oh shit HIMYM is now on channel 7. gotta go. :)

How are you guys feeling about your chances this w/e? Genuine question.

Lolz....well played sir.....

Sydney's team looks pretty strong and the Hawks are alergic to the SCG. Having said that some of the new kids might not have caught that bug yet. All depends on if the Hawks come out to play this week - cannot afford a start like last week against the Saints in Sydney.

Pretty much agree with this except Rioli in for Laddo. Reckon he'll get up in time. Breust for sub and Hodge to play majority of the game down back.

Agree with whoever said the bench picks itself - Lewis, Bailey, Breust and Schoenmakers. Will be very surprised if we see anything else (barring cyril being a late change).

I know alot of people might disagree with this, but anyone reckon Rioli may play a sub role? Come off a hammy scare, and could help ease him back into it. He is also the sort of player that can grab 10 touches and kick 1 - 2 goals in a quater. Just for this week.

My 2 cents

I think this reeks of a lot of common sense...very likely scenario my friend.

However I think Clarko is playing a team made for the scg rather than our best team available this weekend.

Could be his left field selection is what he actually plans.

How are you guys feeling about your chances this w/e? Genuine question.

Normally I am filled with fear as the SCG is frekin kryptonite to the hawks.

However for the first time I feel we have the more physically mature side.

Mumford is the real fear for us.

Mumford dominates swans win.

Mumford gets played anywhere near a draw hawks win.

Has to be bloods as slight favourites.

I dont think we will get pounded as per usual:p
