Re: Round 8 Trades

Worth doing Hall to Tippet this week?
Upgrade. Too many people are doing pointless downgrades in their forwards and apart from Podsiadly, starting with 1-2 extra rookies in their forward line-up. Depending if you've got these players, I'd look to get a Grundy, Pavlich, Brown, O'Keefe, Gray or Higgins that will give you consistent premium value.

I'm tempted to go Nason -> Webberley and Waters -> Russell this week. Both hit their cash peak and Russell will be a great point of difference to my side. However that will leave me with 8 trades but still 125k in the bank, worth the early upgrade? I only have Martin, Maguire and maybe Ballantyne to go and with 3-5 trades for LTI. I was placed 22,034 after Round 5 but I''ve clawed back to 8,520 after two good weeks - hoping to finish top-5k.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Eh. Not a fan of this personally because I tend to answer other people's questions from time to time, but don't answer directly when I actually pose a question.

The other idea in my head is that I'd rather get responses who want to answer and give a bit of a reason than someone just throwing an arbitrary name or answer out so they can ask their question.

Good example of some of the reasons why it hasn't been instituted. It would become a nightmare to keep track of who has & has not contributed before, and then on top of that to wade through the 'forced' responses that are worthless to anyone.

Re: Round 8 Trades

i'd probably wait for davis to post another decent score before looking at him

Personally I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole until he strings together three games either, but if you're strapped for cash and you want to get rid of Hall you could do worse. I'd probably rank the options in order: Pods, Fyfe (maybe), L. Davis, anyone else.

Re: Round 8 Trades

ranked 350 odd atm... these will be my 4 trades over the next 2 weeks.

OUT: Hall, IN: Higgins
OUT: Trengove, IN: Hayes

OUT: Silvagni, IN: Webberly (note - schmidt is my def. EME)
OUT: Waters, IN: Gilbert

and then a few weeks later

OUT: Gumbleton/Rockliff and Martin
IN: fwd cheapie (watts/wona) and ~500k mid

leaves me with 8 trades for 2nd half of season
only required upgrades being bob murphy and possibly hille and kennelly.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Trading Drummond this week & cash not a problem. The following are my thoughts on a poss. replacement.

Malceski - avg. 114 / BE 59. (On fire with only 1 bad game this year)

Gilbee - avg. 105 / BE 126. (Only problem is with his 44 last week likely to drop in price)

Broughton - avg. 100 / BE 117. (Has been consistant as well with 3 scores in the 90's & 3 tons.)

Hurn - avg. 99 / BE 89. (Very consistant with a lowest score of 90)

Chornes - avg.84 / BE 57. (Could be on the rise after 3 tons in a row)

Or is there someone else I should looking at.

i was a malceski cynic and avoided him in the preseason only to bring him in to upgrade hunt last week..... seems to be in ripping form and price is set to rise with his be..... going on recent form, go for malceski

You only need to worry about his price dropping if you are planning on getting him next week or the week after.

i would go Hurn, consistancy is what you should be after for Drummond's replacement. Hes averaging that with about 16 touches a week, he will step it up and get some higher scores when he starts getting over 20 kicks in a game.

That was my thoughts exactly so if I was to go with Gilbee (which is probably not likley though) I would bench Drummond play Nason or Silvangi if he plays & sacrifice a handful of points to pick him up the week after when his price drops.

Consistency is what is leaning me to either one of - Malceski , Hurn or Broughton.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Hunt or Waters> 556k player??

I would go Waters to either Broughton(503k)/Malceski(493k)/Hurn(485k).

Hunt - avg.71 at 318k has only made you 66k & has a BE of 42 so still has more growth to go.

Waters - avg. 81 at 357k has earned you 206k & has a BE of 105 so will probably start to drop in price.

For Broughton/Malceski/Hurn refer to my post above for their avg./Be & reason for opting for them.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Waters -> Goddard
Leaving my backs complete with: Goddard, Hodge, Shaw, Enright, Malceski, Goodwin, Kennely - Maguire / Silvagni EMG

That'll leave me with 12 trades and $30k in bank for upgrades to Martin in the middle and Rockliff in the Fwds... also Rioli and Hall but i ill keep one of them for the year, just not sure which one yet.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Well I'm an idiot.
I only just realised Drummond is out for the year  guess there will be no Gazza this week.

Might go
Drummond > Shaw
Dangerfield > Buddy

A bit of sideways work I know

Re: Round 8 Trades

MY team as it stands:

B: Goddard, Hodge, Malceski, Enright, Goodwin, Bock, Waters
Emg: Maguire, Nason

Mids: Barlow, Selwood, Bartel, Boak, Ball, Martin
Emg: Howlett, Shuey

Rucks: Hille, Clark
Emg: Warnock, Stanley

FWD: Pav, BRown, OKeefe, Gia, Balla, Hall, Pods
Emg: Hitchcock, Gumby

16 Trades left. $192,000 bank.

Can I get some thoughts on what I should do? Really want/need Ablett and Sandi.

Should I trade this week? Especially with clark out again?

Re: Round 8 Trades

Ziebell > Fyfe
Hall > Higgins/Gia/Didak?

Can pretty much afford any forward except Chapman.

I already have Pav, Brown, O'Keefe, Buddy.

Im thinking Higgins might be the most consistent. I don't trust Didak, especially in the second half of the year. Gia has been scoring well past few weeks but not sure he'll keep it up. Thoughts?

Gold. I am making that exact trade to end up with that exact backline. :thumbsu:

Yeah, I'd go with Higgins, personally.

On another topic, I find the complete lack of interest in Lewis Stevenson troubling...

Stevenson would be really handy as a trade down on a Trengove -> Premium option. All the rage has been with Roberton in the backline. Thoughts on my team?

I have a number of first year players as downgrade options, but I want to rid my team of Rioli and Hall, who are both under performing. Was wondering to get a player on the bubble for either player, and then get maybe Chappy, as I have $206,000. Another option is to trade Waters for a bubble backliner, and then Trengove to Swan.

Goddard, Hodge, Kennelly, Hunt, Kelly, Harbrow, Waters (Macguire, Silvagni)

Ablett, J. Selwood, Gibbs, Cooney, Trengove, Martin (Bastinac, Jetta)

Kreuzer, NicNat (Warnock, Lobbe)

Brown, O'Keefe, Didak, Pods, Hall, Rioli, Davis (Gumby, Hitchcock)

Any trade advice out of this mess??

Might just be a timing thing. Lots of people took JKT & Howlett over the last couple of weeks and heaps would be looking at an upgrade for Trengove this week.

Re: Round 8 Trades

I've decided I'm taking what i'd say is a bit of a risk an bringing Russell in

Waters>Russell
Nason>Webberley

Leaving me with a backline of;

Goddard, Malescki, H.Shaw, Enright, Russell, Hodge, Maguire

Hopefully if everything goes according to plan with price drops an increases i can do a straight trade of

Maguire>Gilbee in two weeks :thumbsu:

Re: Round 8 Trades

want to downgrade ladson to webberly then ziebell to pav.

I already have JB, ROK, Higgins, Goodes, Pods, Gumby, Ziebell.

Is there anyone else apart from Pav I should consider (dont have enough for chappy and dont want grundy because of ROK and Goodes in forward line)

Nice one. :thumbsu:

I'm trading out Waters out this week also. Might get H.Shaw but Hurn has crossed my mind. Would leave me with;

Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Shaw or Hurn, Newman, Malceski and Maguire with Nason and P.Davis emergency.

Re: Round 8 Trades

I am thinking Hall>Pods
then L.Jetta>Stevenson

then next week martin>swan

thoughts?

*Just heard Pods has been dropped so will do martin>swan this week

Martin>Swan looks good.

Im thinking:

Medhurst>Watts (yes, I am serious here, has been named this week)
Ziebell>Swan

Thoughts? Roberton has "soreness" (as I sorta expected), and I'm not taking a punt on Jaensch.
