Apologies for .... no wait I already said that. No apologies for this one. I deliberately haven't added any commentary here because that will be done later. Like .... awards night later. Suffice it to say though, that despite the disappointing end to the season, we did have some outstanding performers this season. We had a number of top 50 and some top 10 league performers, so we'll definitely be celebrating that.

Welcome everybody to the Brunswick Junction Oval Community Rooms for the Broken Medal Night! This evening we will unveil the winners of all the Roys FFC awards for Season 38, culminating in the best & fairest trophy for the Roys! We'll open the doors now and start in about an hour.

It's a laidback affair, so make yourself comfortable and mingle, have a tipple, or just sit at the back and stare menacingly at everyone who comes within range. Please note that slingshots are not permitted on the balcony. No launchers of any kind. You may however, use your hands. Bathrooms are located (points haphazardly) here, here, here, here and here.

We had a heartbreaking season just gone, when a last round win plus 7 other clubs doing exactly what we hoped would have gotten us into the finals. Everybody played their part, except us. But the camaraderie was strong and the team put a great presence out there onto the field and into the league community. I would not usually boast that the league is better for us, however the league does tend to tell us this anyway, so we're doing something right.

Note that for all those without a partner can pick up a temporary from the concierge, thanks to the generosity of the Sweet-Mate Introduction Agency across the road. One max each, not transferable. Those expecting a contribution from Five Floors of Horse, sorry to disappoint.

Doors open at 6pm Melbourne time and event is due to start at 7. We do understand the carpet is usually supposed to be red. We've identified the culprit and the authorities are on the case. If anyone knows where we can get hold of a large quantity of vinegar, please contact the staff.

Note that the count will in the format of two sets of 654321 summed for each round. LG representatives have contributed the votes. The player with the highest total is pronounced the Broken Medallist.

Enough of the intro, time to kick back and await the gala.
