Regardless of whether he stays or goes I'll always be disappointed in Boak. Bit like having your wife say she is considering leaving you for another man but will discuss it with her family before making a decision.
I really don't believe that it is Boak driving this - it is a manager sticking to his job description of driving up the price for his client, and a lazy footballing media helping them along.
He is stuck in the middle of the system - he came out pre-season and said he is loyal, but of course he will not come out mid-negotiation and say he is staying at all costs (have you ever taken part in salary negotiations?). His manager will try and get as much publicity as possible to drive up the price and try and panic the club managers.
Stupid system actually -especially with the salary cap mandatory payments - the only tactic left for managers is to drive a wedge between players and hope that the club will his client more than someone else's client. Bring on the AFL version of socialism
