I'm really not sure where the whole 'Richmond are jealous of us' thing comes from for Geelong supporters. Why would Richmond be jealous of Geelong when they have more premierships than Geelong and 3 in the last 10 years compared to 1?

People need to shut the f*ck up with their petty point scoring. This is much, much bigger than that. A young woman's life has been potentially altered, and there is a real prospect based on the publicly available information, that the man in question could be guilty of said crime.

As with Thomas and with Elijah Taylor, if any player is found guilty of something as heinous as what has been alleged, then all 18 clubs and their supporters should equally condemn them. The responsibility lies solely with the individual, and has nothing to do with the club, other players, other clubs or the AFL itself. We would do well to remember who the real alleged victim here is, and what we should be focusing on.

They can't say or do anything, be it stand someone down, sack them etc especially if he can't be named..

You only need to look at the "personal issues" that players have that see them miss stretches of games - and how a section of supporters react to that, to know there's little a club could do, but ultimately that's about the most Geelong could have done, and given the name mentioned in the link has been in the news, as well as the article around AFL players being in the Geelong area being a thing (which I think in it of itself is dancing far too close to the suppression order line), their hands were tied.

If a suppression order is in place then sometimes they blank out the name. Perhaps an administrator forgot.

There's a link. It's publicly available information on the magistrates website. There's a court date. There's no deniability anymore. The horse has bolted, and I imagine multiple people are sharing that link and that image everywhere.

This is a matter for the law, not the club. Though I would hope the cats would sideline him and delist him if found guilty.
Reprehensible behavior which needs to be stamped out and made an example of - but lets allow due process first. Everyone deserves that.
The club is kinda damned if they do and damned if they don't in this case. Maybe it will be a blessing if the news 'leaks' because the club can be decisive in his exclusion with the knowledge that people will understand.

Pretty sure I didn’t say that. Cats have beaten most teams, or been very competitive, regularly over the last 25 years and have competed in untold finals series and have also picked up 4 flags in that period as well. Not too shabby.
That’s because Geelong, far from being a ‘disgraceful club’, is actually a very good club.

My understanding was he's still training with the group just not involved on match days.

The funny thing is, is I can guarantee that the people who will have the most anger towards him (besides the victim and their inner circle), will be Geelong supporters - not oppo supporters.
