You only need to look at the "personal issues" that players have that see them miss stretches of games - and how a section of supporters react to that, to know there's little a club could do, but ultimately that's about the most Geelong could have done, and given the name mentioned in the link has been in the news, as well as the article around AFL players being in the Geelong area being a thing (which I think in it of itself is dancing far too close to the suppression order line), their hands were tied. The club itself are absolutely damned if they do damned if they don't from the outside looking in.
They can't say or do anything, be it stand someone down, sack them etc especially if he can't be named..
But even if a suppression order stops the club from saying or doing anything, the public will attack and accuse them of supporting a player that potentially has committed a serious crime..
If and when it comes out, I hope we fire him into the sun from a cannon, and anyone who has been stupid enough to believe the "finger injury" story deserves to feel like an idiot
It's publicly available information now.Hey maybe the screenshot of the magistrates court appearance should be removed, nobody wants to risk getting in legal trouble about this because you want to dunk on another team.
Just watch what you say about this whole thing there's likely a suppression order in place.
You're only lying to yourself if you're saying you're happier being 25-0 in h&a and 0-3 in September.Sure thing dude- clearly that means zilch- so many insecure tiger supporters swarm every Geelong thread. It’s a testament to how long the cats have been relevant and how long the tigers haven’t been, that you are so envious, so desperate to see us fall. It’ll happen one day dude, not to worry. But unlike so many of your mob, I won’t be losing any sleep over it. Season after season of being a real chance - does wonders for the soul-leaves one content and happy to see others have success.
Nothing on footy media tonight
People need to shut the f*ck up with their petty point scoring. This is much, much bigger than that. A young woman's life has been potentially altered, and there is a real prospect based on the publicly available information, that the man in question could be guilty of said crime.
As with Thomas and with Elijah Taylor, if any player is found guilty of something as heinous as what has been alleged, then all 18 clubs and their supporters should equally condemn them. The responsibility lies solely with the individual, and has nothing to do with the club, other players, other clubs or the AFL itself. We would do well to remember who the real alleged victim here is, and what we should be focusing on.
I feel sick.
That may be so, but sometimes it's best to err on the side of caution, in case a mistake was made, it allegedly went up yesterday and then was taken down and then re put up today. It's publicly available information now.
So you agree the actions of said club are totally up to them and the advice they seek from the people they employ to advise them.I'm sure the club sought it's own legal advice.
They're dealing with an employee.
Obviously the court didn't instruct them...

Lawyers would be working overtime as to whether they clear media to discuss it.Nothing on footy media tonight
I think anyone point scoring on this stuff would have to be kids. I can't imagine who else would be so immature and lacking perspectiveDoes it give you some sort of sick pleasure BF Tiger? Is that why you're laughing at my post and sharing your shit posts with images? I do not understand why people can't put petty f*cking footy rivalries aside to actually give a shit about human beings, for a change.
State of the world I guess. Everything is tribal. Everything is a joke. Even serious crimes such as these. Good job on your internet 'win' I guess.
Pretty sure I didn’t say that. Cats have beaten most teams, or been very competitive, regularly over the last 25 years and have competed in untold finals series and have also picked up 4 flags in that period as well. Not too shabby. You're only lying to yourself if you're saying you're happier being 25-0 in h&a and 0-3 in September.
Do you have no concept of how courts work ? He’s not found guilty yet and is presumed innocent.

The best policy is don't tell lies if you don't want the reputation as a lair.Even though there is evidence of an injury in photos, if it were proven to be false, I think it's better to lie about an injury, cop a fine if you must, than violate a court suppression order. The two have wildly different consequences. These are uncharted wate
Is there footage of him at training?
I know someone who works at the cats, and allegedly noone has seen the player in question since this story broke

Ya think?Though I would hope the cats would sideline him and delist him if found guilty.
This has to have been some administrative errorI get that but if you're going to do that why have a daily list of magistrates court cases on the website?
