Rumour Rumors of cat player in big trouble

Well, if someone goes on the attack, it's nice to defend. That's all.

Exhibit A:

"Haha. Can Richmond supporters ever get over 25 years of losing to the cats? Judging by the bitterness on this forum- it’s a big nope."

Same goes for them. You guys are just the most recent. Everyone needs to give it a rest and ignore if it's not to do with the topic at hand. The discussion is too serious to veer off into the 10,000th thread devolving into 'Richmond better than Geelong/Geelong better than Richmond.'

It's honestly meaningless when compared to this situation.

No actual details of the individuals were revealed. What has been revealed, and you can connect the dots, is that two people were involved and that both were charged with the same charges. Two people including the player accused in this thread, were interviewed last October, in relation to a sexual assault case.

The charges include rape, sexual assault and compelling by sexual touching. These are incredibly serious charges.

Yeah I've already looked up who the other defendant is. Didn't know the name.

I get that but if you're going to do that why have a daily list of magistrates court cases on the website? It defeats the purpose of any suppression order.
The court listing doesn't say what the offence or case is about. There's a suppression order for a case involving an AFL player charged of assualt. I'm not being a smart ass, I can put 2 and 2 together, but strictly speaking, the court listing could be for another matter.
I don't see a court listing involving an AFL player meaning the suppression order has been broken, it's only us drawing that conclusion.

I am loving the Cats supporters taking the moral high ground here when we all know that if this was a player on another Club they would be some of the biggest mouthpieces.

Auditing of third party payments and players before the Courts. What a culture that place has.

Haha keep up the good work Cats supporters from your moral high ground. I look forward to the bile from these posters on the next issue a club faces.

It was 133 to 52.

Nope, I'd want to see the case proceed before making judgements.

We don't have "players" before the courts either.

It's one player and not a lot the club can be responsible for in my opinion.

If you want to blame a club (which is stupid) he'd barely been at Geelong for 5 mins when the alleged incident occurred.

The mag court won't list the charge/s, what is booked in is a committal hearing firstly, that will determine if the matter will be heard at the maggie or a different court.

Think the hearing listed was for a comimital mention, which will likely be the prosecutors and the defence sorting out a future date for a commital hearing that is suitable to all parties. More than likely months away.

Edit - There is an application listed for April, the Commital mention is not until June. This will drag on another 12-18 months, if not longer.

Yes, well beaten.

Lucky we've won 4 flags since.

How long will it take Sydney to recover from their most recent deplorable GF performances?
No idea. Sydney in recent times reminds me of Geelong during the period of the 80s and 90s. There and fall apart when it mattered.

I knew after 2016 that Longmire wouldn’t get it done. But we are side tracking the thread.

What a shit show for the club. I can’t see how they play him if the court case is in limbo, but also if the court proves he’s innocent then the club would want to look back and show they’ve supported him in every way possible.
It would be worse if it's a mistrial, because then there's still no definitive guilty or not guilty and so what do the club do then?

I am not a shit stirrer but I take offense at Geelong fans arguing semantics instead of just admitting that one of their players is accused of being a rapist. Don't take the high ground.
That's all that anybody has been doing, both in here and on our board. We all want him gone.

The "high ground" you mention is calling out and avoiding trolling when there's an innocent victim in all of this. Something much bigger than football.

The player in question can GAGF. It's the innocent young woman who doesn't deserve that s**t.

No charges listed so it’s “possible” this is to an unrelated issue to the one we are associating the name with

I'd say he has been charged and summonsed (to appear), or was charged following an arrest/interview and bailed (to appear).

If it is listed at Court as a Criminal matter, which appears to be the case, then he has been charged with something.

I don't think this is hyperbole to say, that if found guilty, this could likely be the worst incident involving an AFL footballer, in modern AFL history.
It has shades of Stephen Milne's incident 20 years ago. It took a decade before he was kinda, sorta, found guilty to some of the charges.
