I already have one out the back the old man loves tending to it. Not sure my missus would be keen on a second one :sweatsmile:

The idea I'm thinking about is verge collection. Chuck an old TV and a mattress out on the verge for a month, hope that gives the flogs next door time to find somewhere else to park. If anyone asks I'll just say, "Wait... verge collection isn't this week?"

This convo has taken me back. Not so much people parking in annoying places, but the measures suggested to combat it. Growing up we had a tree in our front yard set alight, had an auto chop shop over the road that got raided, then later on while renting, someone set fire to a couple of sofas and mattress that had been left in the bin area (up against a brush fence). The latter in particular was fun, breathing in all the furniture chemicals, getting it put out in time for the firies to rock up. The bonus was the council then came and removed all the wreckage for free.

I'm definitely not suggesting a raid or use of fire.

Almost. Mount Gambier (bottom of SA). Didn't even mention the drug dealers, people rocking up to fight neighbours. Although, for the most part, it wasn't at the forefront, we still rode bikes / roamed the neighbourhood as kids without much care. Just interesting to think back on. Also, to be fair the furniture fire was in Adelaide as an adult. Not even a high crime area.

Fun fact: Mt Gambier was home to Nick Daffy, Simon Feast. An hour or so from Dawson, Gould's hometowns.

Lowkey sounds kinda fun actually. But I'm the kind of person who peeks out through the blinds when a police car is parked in a neighbour's driveway. I froth that sort of drama and excitement.

Are you sure you're not parking your own car on your own driveway?

Also. Why not park your car on their verge.

Oh thank you for the concern.

A few weeks after I made that post, they started parking there more randomly. There would be a week where their cars would be nowhere in sight and then the next week they'd be right back there. I assumed they must work away and being the wuss that I am, I was happy to take that and ask no questions. But one day my missus snapped as she nearly got clipped by a passing car because the neighbours cars were blocking her view (that's how close they were parked to our driveway.)

Enough was enough. I decided it was time I grew a pair and addressed the issue like a real man. So I went over next door and provided strong moral support for my missus as she confronted them.
