Greg Swan commented recently that Carlton still have "plenty of room" in their salary cap. The AFL should investigate them based on that comment alone.

The fact that they are recruiting a 28 year old shows that they think their premiership is coming in the next 2-3 years.

I'm glad they're interested H2F but I reckon it's a long shot for a couple of reasons:

1) we will play hard ball until the end and still not want to give up anything for O'Keefe
2) O'Keefe has a new manager so a pay cut doesn't seem like a realistic proposition.

Why is he leaving the swans?
Home state Victoria?
More money?
Chance at a premiership?

The only good answer for someone who wants to become a hawk is a). If it's about money/glory chasing I don't think it's a great fit for our club.

O'Keefe is a class act no doubt but I was still surprised to read that the HFC may be interested in him.

Where do we fit him in our forward line?

And then there's the cost!

plus he is asking for 600,000 a year.. with the players like buddy who are very underpaid.. i believe that he is only pulling in 450,000 but he could easily ask for 1mil at any club

ROK is a great player, and he would be a handy addition to our forward line, but there is no way he is worth 600K a year.

Buddy is being severely underpaid, I would rather the club gave Buddy a pay rise, than fork out 600K a yr on player who may or may not have 3-4 years left.
