No culture in the SFA makes it impossible for people to leave. Everyone has their departures and arrivals.

Shit, okeydoke7 is the king of changing clubs and I highly doubt he will finish his career at the Royals as it's not how he does things. But do you seriously think every club he has been apart of had a shit culture that made him want to leave?
If I wasn't at the Royals, I would be asking for a mid-season trade to the Warriors.

Given i'm now admin and was the deciding vote on their acceptance, I feel a small amount of responsibility over their success/failure. I feel like I am the perfect type of poster to join the Warriors. A bit of experience, league wide presence and quality (if I say so myself) would be massive for the Warriors. Plus their 3-1 start means a winning final would finally be a chance.

So I could do two things: Continue my self-serving persona by saying that I am chasing finals glory, and actively contribute and be a part of something that I think can benefit the league.

I even discussed it, albeit tongue in cheek, with Frankston Rover.

But being at the Royals makes that idea so much harder. I genuinely love this club. I love playing alongside these blokes. I enjoy the mix of posters. Some light hearted, some funny, some laid back, some tightly wound, some antagonists, some with a mix, some active, some sporadic. I genuinely love it. I really enjoy the SFA when i'm logging in to post alongside these guys.

And that's why I can't see myself being that guy for the Warriors.

Culture.

Give it another 3 months...

Who are the Gold City Royals TheFreshBanana?
I hear they've never made finals.
Haven't you heard?
Heard what?
You ruined it. You were supposed to say "heard what?", then I would have followed with "oh, it was my understanding everyone had heard."

AH WELL A BIRD BIRD BIRD. BIRD IS THE WORD.

But noooo, thanks Haro :)
What are you talking about? *wink*
oh, it was my understanding everyone had heard. lol.
There we go
Gold City Royals are still shite.
I just wanted to quote this little exchange once.

Just to acknowledge that i'd rather stare at bat shit.

I have no doubt in the world that you love playing with the Royals. However I believe you won't finish your career there and I'm not saying you will leave anytime soon but you will eventually. Unless you want to be an arse just to prove me wrong :p

That's the kind of guy I am.

Anything to get the last word in ;)

Speaking of, ClarkeM's recent stint as a co-captain was successful wasn't it? I've been holding off voting for the Hall of Fame just out of spite.

....

So you are saying he'd rather watch that then see you talk? OR you're even worse than that show?
Just let it go through to the keeper mate. The less interaction the better.

To contradict myself: Who's your tip this week Atley ?

I want to know if Big Bad Buddy misses me - we went out in straight sets together once (despite my MOTM efforts), surely that means something!
The old Dragons days are behind most of us now :(

Of course I miss you, Easty. One of the better posters at the Dragons during my long but worthless spell there.

Then there was that spammer The Half Back - oh how I don't miss being in the same dressing room as him !

Precisely my previous point regarding your mercenary status. Interesting research I found just before S16 list lodgement, and not long after the Wonders claimed the S15 Premiership. I guess a premiership was reason enough to renew acquaintances and interest.
My mercenary status? This was the quote that prompted DiT's post that you quoted:

Yo would be awesome if i could get the RFP position, really doesnt matter if its left ir right.

And wait what, we have a fb page?

Oh my, how mercenary of me, requesting a forward pocket position. Actually, that's a pretty good position as far as the Royals are concerned, with our very own forward pocket kicking more goals than anyone at the Royals.

Although, I'm blushing at the fact that you think my average of 2.7 posts in Season 16 is good enough to consider me a "mercenary".

I never knew you valued my posting so highly, Soggy!

You chose the Wonders, yet realised they had won a recent premiership, only to go into temporary exile, then decide to return straight after another. I'm not buying it mate.
I joined the SFA at the beginning of S15, 2 seasons after the Wonders last premiership. I wouldn't really call my average of 2.7 posts a "return", despite the quality you regard my posting to be, it was actually more of an attempt to get Wise Guy Sam off my back with all the incessant tagging.

Nice save, and for that credit must be given, except the use of your previous pun. 'hypocrite' would have sufficed, making it more appropriate. Now you've just given me more impetus to shoot it's intended purpose down again, as I did above.

I know you see yourself as Macklemore, rapping to your own beat, but even then I'm sure he'd have finished a lot higher in the Players Association MVP, particulalry for somebody who sees himself more worthy than results and status indicate.
I'm the Macklemore of 2013, and also the Leonardo DiCaprio of the Oscars.

Along with three wooden spoons.
I'm sure they'll always have their back to back triumph as bragging rights, particularly when success is the main point.

Didn't realise we are already into the pointy end of the season. Looks like you guys are joining us in that contest if that's the case. We'll let you win that one, lord knows the Royals need to win atleast something to keep their spirits up. Even if it does involve losing which is what you guys do best.
It took the West Coast Wonders 7 seasons to taste success, so we still have almost 5 seasons to surpass that achievement, and judging by our pre-season title, it won't take as long as it did you to eventuate...yes we have won something much to your dismay.

After the current round, the Wonders will fall to 1-4 in what is their worst start to a season since season 7 when you in fact became the West Coast Wonders.

How the mighty have fallen

I think Marklar explained it perfectly.

I think you'll find the Royals culture makes it impossible for people to leave. I even had a captaincy position at the Warriors I knocked back due to my unwillingness to depart from this magnificent club.

I guess with the pantskyle drama, coupled with the EF99 situation, it's not surprising you lost a few important players, who all decided the Wonders weren't the club to take them forward. When your VC leaves, you know you have some serious problems within the ranks.

What ended up eventuating from the ClarkeM fiasco? Is he still co-captain, or did you decide to seek an alternate route after he tried to take the mickey out of the competition by signing players without their consent? Were you struggling to field a side for season 18? Quite surprising considering you're the reigning premiers. You'd imagine players would be queuing up to be part of a side who's tasted success more than others recently, but instead they all can't wait to sign the release papers. Not surprising Duggs returned to add some respectability to the cause. Maybe your desperate pleas forced his hand.

That's culture.

I forgot about that.

**** me that was terrible.
