Gumbies FFC vs Fighting Furies at The House Of Gumby
A huge game for both clubs this week. The Furies will be looking to back up last weeks’ high scoring victory and settle up a top 8 spot early. Meanwhile, the Gumbies will be looking to regain relevancy in their 500th Sweet FA game.
The Furies took on the Bears last week in which everything for the number of posts to the final scoreline was disgustingly high. 26 goals and 37 scoring shots later they beat the Bears by a huge 8 goals. 7 players with over 20 possessions and 9 different goal scorers, including 3 who dobbed 5 each. So many gun performances, but the Furies will be looking for repeat performances from Wacky Tiger and Sterge who both combined for 42 possessions, 15 marks and 10 goals.
The Gumbies, on the other hand, are coming off a tough defeat after the Royals ‘Stacked Six’ worked them over. Losing by 5 goals after a relatively even first half would hurt, especially as it consigned them to their 4 loss in 5 games. Taylor (22 possessions and 11 marks) and vdub (23 possessions and 4 marks) were probably the standouts last week, but they’ll need more to stand up this week.
The 500th game for the Gumbies is a very special occasion and you’d hope they get up for it, but we all know how much the sim is a fickle mistress.
