Welcome again to another spammy award.. for those who spamalot (no relation to Monty Python for legal reasons)
Again we present Season 33 Rising star, an acknowledgement of those who in their first year, relentless bombarding of all the match threads with gifs, copypastas (mmm pasta) and one word answers (Pickitt and his 16 page replies of one answer)
Wit, banter and quality posting will be judged, contemplated and binned so post to your content
The previous (quality and thewizardmelon ) class will review each round and put forward some names of the rookies who best illustrate how awarding rookies encourages them to be still spammy years on (looking at you PMBangers)
The SFA Rising Star award is carried on by the previous rookie class. It passes on from one rookie class to the next. It is both a way of challenging and mobilizing the sophomores and of involving and promoting the newcomers... or giving more attention to media whores like CrimsonViolet .
Our own Electronic_Renaissance sat down with the big cheese reigning EKA Medalist damicky to lay out the law on how to be a rookie sensation
So, Damicky how did you become involved in the SFA? How was the league brought to your attention?
During Richmond’s bye week, NaturalDisaster put up a thread on the RFC Board asking if anyone was interested in having a game of Qooty
He was going to SIM a game but didn’t get around to doing it
Someone saw my name on the list & asked if I wanted to join the Sweet FA
I had no idea that it was more than just a simulated game of football
You really hit the ground running, especially with your media work. Was that something you envisioned before entering the league, or did you decide to develop that once you had already joined?
It took me a few weeks to realise there was more to the Sweet FA than match threads
I found out that the EKA was the league sanctioned Award for Rookie posters & media is an integral part of the voting process
You caused quite the controversy when you left the Furies for the Demons team, while knowing you would already be joining another team once the season had finished. Did you think that it would stir up such an anti damicky sentiment?
I didn’t think that changing clubs mid-season would cause as much drama as it did … the decision to join the Wonders was made some time after I joined the Demons
The Sweet FA thrives on story lines & villains … don’t believe everything you hear
What advice would you give to the S33 rookies, especially the ones looking at media work and a potential EKA? Is there anything, with the benefit of hindsight, you would tell them to avoid?
The best advice I can give is to enjoy yourself … post as much or as little as you want
As for media, find something that interests you & give it a crack!
Avoid taking this place too seriously … it can take a while to understand what is going on
As the cheese, you must have tried casu martzu, how was the experience?
Never heard of it … your obsession with Cheese is unhealthy
Named in honor of our own Peter Pan (the child that never grew up - let him tell the story of how he fought pirates and found "lost" children...) sausageroll
Tag a rookie below and let them fight it out... or don't because, hey, we all know they are just going to post anyway:
