Reminds me of a professor, who is giving a lecture on the evils of alcohol. On his desk are 2 glasses - one containing water, and the other whiskey. He drops a live worm into each glass, and the onlookers are surprised to see that the worm in the water is swimming around happily, while the worm in the whiskey shrivels up and dies. The professor looks at his audience and says, "So ladies and gentlemen - what's the moral of the story?"

The WWE wrestler known as The Sheikh of Baghdad - General Adnan - died recently



His spirit of resistance and survival is still being celebrated throughout Baghdad as part of the history of wrestling in the region



The war brought some of America’s legendary wrestlers to the country for promotional tournaments, including ex-Baghdad Bombers players



The leader of the Baghdad Bandits in exile - Santoz - was also known to have performed in underground exhibition bouts around Baghdad as El Santo



General Adnan fought such famous wrestlers as Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant



Less well-known is that Santoz himself took on General Adnan at a secret location and the outcome was not well-publicised



Legend has it that El Santo had a gun in the front of his tights on the night, just in case the outcome didn’t go the way he had planned
