I know the one about Boak in 2016. If Saturday night was incident two, what is number 3?

Didn’t know about the Boak one. The other incidents that have stood out

$20k fine for an issue with handling Hartlett concussion a few years back - not following protocol

The other one was Butters and Jonas head clash last year. Both players bleeding heavily after head clash, close game in the balance and both back on within a few minutes with a mountain of tape around there heads to try and stop bleeding (no concussion check then either)

The articles are floating around throughout the threads

Yeah I've seen replays of the clash but couldn't piece the details.

Strangely I am thinking about Granger and the preliminary final.

in years gone by it was seen as brave as courageous. and yeah, there's a degree of that, but the player who is concussed might not even know they're concussed. but they know it 20 years down the track. and hopefully as a society we've moved on and can understand that, and can recognise that players deserve a decent quality of life afterward. not gonna comment on granger's mental health which has been a matter of ridicule by adelaide media..

No wasn't meaning his mental health.
Difficult to believe that the doctor isn't questioned at the time, given previous happenings.

Blood has nothing to do with it, as I've been replied mentioning the many head knocks Selwood has copped that some are ok with. Based on that, then there was nothing wrong with the Butters and Jonas calls. Why are people still bringing it up that there were bleeding?

Third last time I was concussed, they cancelled the game because I was completely unconscious for 15 - 20 minutes in the last quarter. This greatly annoyed me as when I came to I was denied the opportunity to tough it out and return to play.

4 players in 1 practice game. None come off the field after the hits, none get subbed out. Don't buy into the narrative that we are doing anything diff to other clubs.

Crows players head slammed into the ground by Marshall, not looked at.

No club will sub 2 players out of a game 5 minutes in unless they are basically dead.

So those 2 clashes get minimised, so typical

AFL should really be having an independant doctor check off our list and assess who can be passed fit to play or not each game for the remainder of the year at minimum.

Sure Dr Teo saved some lives and bought happiness to families but he also destroyed some lives and brought misery to families watching their loved ones being vegetables for their remaining days.

Too much risk taking involved with this Port doctor.

What the hell 😂 may as well take our 11 home games off us too, and no crowds also. This guy is a clown.
His reasoning was a 100k fine out of the cap etc. only hurts the position of a lower rung employee, so take their season requests away lose the ANZAC fixture blah blah.. yes no self interest there of course.

If it was his first **** up ... Written warning

But it's not. Its like his third or fourth. Most disciplinary procedures in HR world have guidance on this when the performance has the same theme or type eg start with verbal, then written, then final, then termination.

If we are in any way a football club that has accountability as part of our culture, he needs to be fired.

Bickley wants us to lose the ANZAC fixture.. no agenda there lol
I would have thought sending young men into danger under false pretences perfectly embodies what ANZAC Day is all about.

The outrage pile on for this is an interesting phenomenon to watch. That main board thread is quite something.

We live in a society that wants to be outraged so they can express an opinion. The blessing of social media.

What were the first ‘three or four’ incidents? Be specific.

It feels very disproportionate to what actually occurred and makes having a genuine discussion about it virtually impossible.
