The Advertiser said:
On Tuesday at Alberton, Hinkley said it was just “some opinions based off one loss” and his resolve to coach had not waivered at all.

“I think we have been really clear on that, there is absolutely no confusion,” he said.

“I said right from the start I have plenty of energy for the job, Josh and I know exactly what is going on, the whole football club knows what is going on.

“People have some opinions based off one loss.

“Not one bit (he doesn’t waiver), no I don’t enjoy big losses regardless of it was 91 (points) and the next biggest was 86 or something like that, five points, it is a bad loss.

“Yes it hits the top of the benchmark for my career, but when you are losing by 90 points or 86 points it is bad.”

“The two people you are talking about [Kane Cornes and Nick Riewoldt] they aren’t asking me that question, if they want to I am really happy for them to ask me that question,” he said.

“I think you know what the answer is, of course it is I am as excited as I have been all year.

“I said that all the way through, I am disappointed in a really bad loss but I am not going to waiver or jump to a position that I wasn’t in last Thursday.

“I am excited about what this team can do, I am excited about the growth of this team and I am excited about the direction of this footy club.

“Saturday night makes it hard for everyone to accept that it was the right direction right now but before that it was pretty good.”

It's not based off one loss idiot! It's based off the last four times we played Collingwood, it's based off of 13 years.

Just step down.
Yea I'm not sure how one media dolt can't ask the simple question after this game as in you've been embarrassed by Collingwood three years in a row at the MCG why is it, why do you get the brown bum biscuits in big games?

If we lose on Saturday, it'll be fascinating to see what he says next week. Hopefully he'll mention the words, "I quit."

Of course it comes down to money.

I personally don't think Ken has wanted to be coach for the last few years, and Port have been too gutless to move him on. Instead, they've offered him ridiculous money to continue. And I believe that has occurred in large part because none of the decision makers want the spotlight on them in regards to football related decisions at the Club.

If the Club offered to pay him out in full at 9am this morning, I would be surprised if he took longer than 5 minutes to accept it - not that it's going to happen this week at least.

You only have to look at the off-season where Ken literally had to tell the Club he was up for the fight to go around another year. If that were truly the case, it never would have even been a question mark that needed to be answered.

Whatever happens this year Ken will come out smelling like roses and he saved the PAFC......

Lol

someone needs to kidnap him. what would happen if an AFL coach is kidnapped and not found before match day? let's hope we find out

What a ****ing drop kick. No ownership of the 3x 13+ goal losses in last 6 weeks. Only trumpeting that we've won lots of games over the last period.

Such friggin delusion.

We're not winning games in a way that is conducive to winning the big games and we've clearly had repetitive themes, that dont change.

If Port lose to Richmond this weekend, i am 95 % certain Ken will fall on his sword/exit the club.

Even Kane Cornes has now turned against The Bald Gargamel looking fraud.

Also I do firmly believe you should give Josh Carr a chance as senior coach, I believe he spent his formative years as an assistant at Freo under Ross Lyon.

Don't let your totally understandable hate of Ken Shitley taint your opinions of a Port Adelaide star and premiership player in Josh Carr (don't think he played enough games for your club to be called a club champion)

I believe he also coached North Adelaide to a flag in the SANFL (a team that didn't have much recent success before or after he left)

I honestly believe you will be pleasantly surprised once JC takes over as senior coach of your great club

Lol
They're so disconnected from us.

We finished 2nd, sure that is a good result, but the coaching staff needs to be able to cut through the fluff and identify that part of our results are based on fluking our way there, and that clearly our 2nd position didn't actually fairly reflect our ability.

We can all see it from the outside. We all know our failings, we see the themes repeating so consistently across seasons. The finals results were a bit extreme, but they were again the EXACT same types we'd seen in the past. They clearly highlight where we're really at. Instead of calling them out, making major change on the back of several years of finals failure, they're trying to sell this bull crap message that if we keep hammering the square peg into the round hole we'll eventually get lucky.

We're a strong club, lol.

We're making up the numbers and of absolutely no threat to anyone in September.

We'll beat Richmond by 10 goals this week and it'll mean absolutely zero, yet the club and coaching staff will hang their hats on it like they did beating StKilda in the preseason.

We'll thrash them. It's what we do.

We're 37-0 against bottom 10 interstate teams, at AO in daytime slots.

It's the hallmark of the Ken era, we rack up wins easily in these games and inflate his numbers.

If it was a night game, particularly saturday night game, then we'd be in danger.

I think many can see Kenny wants the pay of his remaining contract and will not walk away and leave it on the table.

Pafc doesn't want to pay him out for doing nothing so they would rather pay him doing even more of a half arsed job than his regular programme.

In here lies the stalemate that is 2025.

And he'll have a look on his face like we've just progressed into a WC semi final.

WEEKS A LONG TIME IN FOOTY!! WE KNEW WE'D DONE THE WORK!! IT'S PRETTY GOODS AGAIN!!

I would think it would get down to money. If Ken wants to walk to save shame and supporters booing him, the club might feel that if he breaks his contract he will get nothing or at best 50%. My guess is Ken doesn't care about results this season and hopes the club make the call so he gets paid and in that case they will pick the right game so he goes out on a win, they won't announce his leaving prior to save the loser from any anti Ken behavior. Just my opinion.

If its about money with Ken, which let's face it, it is. Then the board needs to have some balls about them. Demote him, sorry ken, we don't need you to be the head coach, but we do need you down in the boots room to clean the boys boots, fine we'll pay you your 900k this year, but that's what you'll be doing.

Then when he is embarrassed that his "ego" (which is self inflated because he's never achieved anything) he can walk, and Port can tear up the contract saying he is not performing his end of the contract. if he runs some argument in the Fair Work Omission for being demoted, well results speak for themselves, no Commissioner is going to side with that.

And if he has a go in Court for breach on contract, then surely the scope of his work is to provide a high quality head coaching role, which surely can't be too hard to argue - having said that we did go into the Houston tribunal last year saying yes sorry were guilty, please don't give us 5 weeks.
