Those comments are hard to reconcile really.

They have a stated ambition of winning the premiership and they all seem to believe they can achieve that. Well, you win premierships from the top 4. And to make the top 4 from here, they're going to need to win at least 15 of 20 games. That's a tough ask in general, let alone from the starting point of looking at where the form line has been from the PF to pre season games to the first two rounds.

The fans asking questions is completely reasonable - again, given the goals and ambitions that they have publicly set themselves of winning the premiership.
But when words are meaningless and there is no accountability stating you are aiming for the flag is irrelevant.

I'm gonna win the premiership this year playing for a newly formed Auckland Armadillos side that will enter in round 5. The cat that lives next door is gonna win the Brownlow. See, its all just words unless they mean something. They can say literally anything they want at this point.

Dont judge us on round 2, judge us on round 16 or 17.
Don't judge us on round 2, judge us on the bye.

Nek minnit, "remember in 2012 before Hinkley saved the club we were beaten by the bye"

Crows copping a bit of heat this morning. Bookmark it. Nicks will be get sacked before brilliant-minded Hinkley. Has better survival skills than a cockroach after a nuclear holocaust.
Yep and the media messaging will be that Nicks hasn't delivered and its time for the Crows to move him on. No emotion. No talk of "Nicks Haters". No mention of "think about where they were in 2019". No mention of them sacking coach after coach and expecting too much. Just the standard level of accountability in a role that applies to 17 of the 18 coaches in the AFL.

In fairness, Nicks was only put in charge to oversee a rebuild and cop the brunt of a few years of bad performances.

As soon as they think they’re alright again, they’ll replace him. He’s literally just been keeping the seat warm the whole time.

This is true, but they're far from being in a position where they should be expecting success.

I'm thinking they snagged a few wins early last year and it's given them a false sense of being better than what they are. These wins were largely due to a Ted renaissance and a couple of games with supreme help from the umpires.
Realistically they should have won 3 or 4 games and be firmly entrenched in the bottom 2.

To be thinking of moving Nicks on now is crazy talk, but it's what they do.

"Ricciuto, who is a football director and one of the most powerful voices at the club, said the current playing group’s “skill levels are just shocking”.

He said the losses to Fremantle and Collingwood were “garbage”.

“They’ve been underachieving," he said on Triple M in Adelaide".

Why doesn't anybody from Port come out and say that about our transition, diabolical forward structure and underachievement over the past 5 seasons!? Instead we get this happy clapper diatribe about not judging after 2 rounds and we're all in this together etc. We've got a board full of yes men, when we need people like Fiacchi and Treadrea who actually want change.

Accountability? Hinkley didn't even attend the event after the game last Saturday.

They just say that because there's zero accountability when they fall short. It's an easy way out if you can keep kicking the can down the road into a future so bright that we gotta install roller blinds.

Whatever Ken has been doing in the resilience and gratitude space, it isn't working.

He is exhibiting zero of either when it comes to the members and fans.

As soon as the slightest criticism comes he loses it.
He appreciates the resilience of his guaranteed paycheque and shows gratitude towards his healthy bank balance.

The hawks game was bad enough. My bay was savage. Duursma copped it big time from a guy in our bay saying he should never wear #7 again.
One guy (outside of my group) was fuming, but not everyone's there yet.

The guy behind me had a passive aggressive sook because I said, verbatim, "how about you put your fist out and spoil the ball Darcy you B-grader", when he bizarrely chose to jump into Worpel like a ballet dancer rather than punch the ****ing ball.

Copped things like "you've got a lot of bravado sitting there in your seat", "I'd like to see you out there", and "try giving some complements".

I think he might be a relative of DBJ, but what I said was very tame – maybe don't go to the football if you can't handle the slightest criticism of your daughter's boyfriend ya campaigner.
