For the time being, I'm prepared to excuse whatever garbage most of our players spew to the media. Hinkley is a rubbish coach, but he's obviously got a talent for selling snake oil. After years of being told that success will come if only you humble yourself enough at the altar of work-hardery-longery, it'll take more than four losses in five games (prelim, GC-trial, R1, R2) to undo that programming. Until things reach breaking point, I suspect most will just cling hardery-longery to their beliefs. Even then, it's very rare that an AFL player publicly declares open season on their head coach.

Can see it coming - Club announcement, its not Kens fault, due to exceptional circumstances with injuries and covid blah blah.

The good news then is that our 'success' over the past two years wasn't attributable to Ken either. You know, because of lack of injuries and covid blah blah. It was just good luck.

May as well sack him then.

Round 3: A loss to the Crows would put some real heat on him, even from the happy-clappers.
Round 4: An absolute destruction on the national stage. Ben Brown to kick another 10.
Round 5: A thrashing by his ex-assistant Michael Voss
Round 6: Yet another loss to West Coast at AO, with all their injuries, taking us to 0-6 for the year and 0-6 against them at AO
Round 7: Thrashed by St Kilda in Cairns
Round 8: Repeat of the 2021 Prelim
Round 9: Repeat of Round 22, 2019

Surely that will be enough to get rid of him, right? Right?

It’s pathetic that we still have him around!!! Back in 2015 I was disappointed when we didn’t make the finals. I thought we were going to win a Premiership and I truly believed that. The question was just when- Would it be 2016, 2017 or 2018. I thought we were setting up a system of success that would ensure that every player who comes to Port Adelaide would be fast tracked along the road to a premiership.

After 2018 I had completely lost belief in Hinkley. The 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons have validated that belief.

I’m sick of the bs. Surely the players must be as well!? The problems are systematic. Questionable player selection, poor game day coaching and an extreme reluctance to change strategies when our game plan is rat shit and will never win a Premiership. How can any players be confident when he literally comes out after the Brisbane game and says “we’ll win more games than we lose”.

Hinkley is treating us all like mugs and tarnishing the name of the Port Adelaide Football Club! We may as well change from “We exist to win Premierships” to “We exist to win more than we lose”. The fact that people still support this clown is beyond belief

Same. No player is dissing their coach in a public forum. That would be pretty dumb.

Also, you got to consider the players measuring stick is when asked if Ken is the right man for the job. Dixon was coached by Eade and McKenna, so sure Ken must seem like a superstar. Butters is a teen and this is all he knows.
No doubt the players are also sent to Ken's Ball Cupping PR classes, too.
Ask them in 10/15 years, that's when the truth comes out.

Last year.

Round 9: Repeat of Round 22, 2019 - The game to match the hopeless, hapless water buffalo, wallowing, wallowing in mud Brad Scott most number of games in V/AFL at one club and no grand final.

Sack him mid May - means 5.5 of the 6 month payout is already included in this year's soft cap, so only 0.5 months payout potentially causes us to go over soft cap amount so maybe a tax of $30k to $40k.

We can live with that.

There were 7 Police Academy movies, so anything is possible.
Sorry but you can't compare this to Police Academy.

One was a ridiculous slapstick series that went on way too long and seemed to get less and less funny over time as it seemed to just repeat the same storylines about the incompetence of the senior staff.

The other is a series of movies about police officers.
