But this doesn't address anything I've said. Are you saying Carr was coaching the last few games just as he was during the 13 or not? Again... I want Hinkley gone and I'd like Carr in, but if I want to credit him with the wins and the sensible selection during the streak, I have to do the same for the last few weeks. I don't believe Carr has been "basically coaching" since round 3. We've had excellent minor round performances in 20 / 21 too and s**t the bed. No difference this year to indicate Ken isn't still just as in charge as ever.
It's not really as black and white as that. I think it's undoubtedly Carr running game day strategy. After WGT untenable clip after the home showdown, Ken moved to the bench on gameday and became head cheerleader.
The Saints game was confirmation of that for me, when we were getting sliced up then changed to man on man and took advantage back. This has never ever happened under Ken.
After 13 wins in a row, we really could afford to give Dixon whatever time off he needs to get himself right, but we know Ken's main goal is top 4 and new contract, not form running into finals. Also after 13, when McKenzie went down, Ken couldn't announce Jonas return fast enough. What message did that send to the rest of the team? Did they play with the same connection and energy from that point on?
The team is cooked. The fwd line is stagnant now, they're not leading with the same intensity and the ball is coming in slower. I don't think there is a lot Carr can do in the box on gameday when your no.1 target can't walk.
