I used to drink Tooheys Extra Dry growing up. It's a ****ing horrible drink, dunno what I was thinking.

Bad Shepherd’s Sticky Date Stout, Peanut Butter Porter, and Hazelnut Brown Ales all came across my doorstep this week.

Huzzah.
I love bad sheps dark beers Barrels. Had many a session at their brewery.
Top drops - would recommend 10/10
Edit: also one of the ex Bad Shep lads is going out on his own in Mordi - wolf in the field? Or something. Interested to get to his new digs and try his wares when lockdown ends

Just saw the beer discussion in the preview thread. Got me thinking, with many of us stuck at home / only able to watch on tv, unfortunately we cant enjoy the fine $8 watered-down mid-strength that Etihad Stadium has to offer.

Any suggestions of what to drink during Saints games?

When we are winning. Heavy stuff. When we are losing. Even heavier stuff. For pre games drinks. The Garden Gate is the spot at the ground.

I've begun to rediscover my youth drinking capacity in lock down.

Need a good session beer like Coopers, Furphy, or that Goat with the blue and orange can. You know, the cheap one.

And a good shot of Jimador Tequila after each 6 pack helps keep the tummy in order and the train rolling nicely.
The fourth shot usually means the game is over and it's bedtime.

Brisbane is actually getting quite trendy for micro breweries believe it or not.
Queensland is growing up.

Brissy has always had an underground cool scene, it's spread a bit these days. I know a guy who's your quintessential urban w***er from Brisbane, the long hair, combucha, dumb old bike and vegan craft beer type. Posts incessant vegan flex videos on facebook and does nothing meaningful. He makes Fitzroy look mainstream.

And the old xxxx rugby league and union and steak pubs still abound. I love those old QLD pubs. Feel right at home.

I rediscovered the Carlsberg Elephant beer, 7.2% and $16 a 6 pack at Dan's. Drinks like water but has a punch.
