Liked what I saw of Sam today. His attack on the ball, his clean hands in picking up the ball especially one where he we attacking the ball that was running towards him it was so clean. He also was strong in the tackle and he shrugged of some tacklers as well. Looks strong. Think that Berry will be a very good player for us as he develops. And that was only in the first half today.

Coming along really nicely. Dare I say it, Sloane-like at times with his ability to be clean both above his head, at ground level and giving off a quick handpass

He's got a future with us without doubt
Very good overhead for his size. Clean hands.
.
Gather he still leads out tackle count too.

Nice give for Keays 1st goal.

Arguably the find of the year for us.

You wouldn't think it looking at him, but his ability to stand up in contested marking situations is really good for his size. Can hold his position really well and has good hands to still be able to take grabs.

His running vertical leap in testing last year was 94cm. To put it in perspective, that's more than 10cm higher than Luke Jackson's and Max King's underage PB. His leap is extraordinary, even more so when you look at his build as a stocky midfielder.

Sloane-like! Though he seems to be quite a naturally strong player. Really like his bullocking, no-fear attack on the ball with some nice evasive skills. Definitely worthy of being in our regular 22 now.

To think after no footy for him at all last year to have been able to hit the ground running, pick up the pace of AFL and to have put together such a strong body of work it looks like he has a huge future with us. Hoping he can get a rising star nomination at some stage as reward for his efforts so far
Not just that but when he was playing in 2019 it was an underager. To come straight in to AFL is pretty incredible

He's such a no bullshit player.

Always times his handballs to the advantage of his team mates - see keayes goal. That was perfection you can't teach.

Great overhead, stable in the contest, his, tackles stick, he's not afraid of the contest.

He doesn't seem to care about flash, he's all about winning.

Honestly, I'm getting a young David Mundy vibe from him. Will he get that good? Who knows.

But feel like a player who will be underrated his whole career because his highlights won't be amazing but everyone in the club will know how good he is.

Agreed, so much of a young Rory there, just needs to bleach his hair and ditch the headband...

Finish needs some work, but other just does everything else so well, clean takes, body lines the ball, no backwards steps and tackles/harasses so well. I get the feel, similar to Rory, that he’s the kind of player who will work hard on his disposal, especially his kicking, to get it to the level whereby its more than passable. He’s never going to do a Brodie Smith 60m bullet pass, but if he can work on his 20-40m passing and perfect that, he’ll be very damaging.

Apart from the odd rest, needs to be in the side week in, week out.

He has such a weapon in his ability to burst through and out of packs and stoppages!! Caught some great examples in the first half of last night games. Cant wait to see more of this man bull play.

Thilthorpe and Berry showed yesterday they will both be guns at our club imo. Berry will only get better. Lookout when he can play consistently for 3 to 4 quarters instead of dominating 1.5 quarters. Reminds me of a young Selwood without the ducking. Just needs to work on his finishing for goal on the run.

Would love to see him get a bit more of a run in the middle but it's refreshing to see a young player play off half forward and actually find a way to get themselves into the game. Typically been the position where all young talent goes to rot for Adelaide.
