Maybe we have increased his load Monday-Friday to get more Miles in the legs but with the situation the way it is, we need him to play. For the development of the next Ruck after himself Visintini gets the first gig for a set period and Hayes is working on a ‘second string’ to make him more valuable at the next level?

Must play AFL next week, regardless of the ones result today.

HAYES SUCKING BACK ANOTHER PACK OF DURRIES AGREEINGLY NODS, WAVES FIST THEN SITS DOWN FATIGUED FROM HIS BURST OF ANGER.
Lol you are such an imbecile

Hayes could suck back a pack of durries on the bench playing 40% gametime and still be more use than Teakle

Hayes should be ready to plug and play because he should have played 30+ games at this point. Instead we've just elected to get massacred at the ruck. Surely we just play Lycett if Teakle is this green.

Insane situation that only Port under Hinkley would find themselves in.

Max Gawn used to suck back a pack of death sticks a day and he's arguably the best ruck of the modern era. You know if you're a father figure of a young eshay maybe help him quit the ciggies and become a bit more professional instead of banishing him to a forward pocket to die a slow death.

I reckon whatever he has done he has lost the trust of his coaches and then his team mates. Looks that way from watching him run around and I dont think you come back from that.

Maybe he wasnt willing to work hard enough (see williams D) and if it is its on him but if you think the talent isnt there then you dont know football.

Funny thing is Teakle would probably be much better at the forward role we have Hayes playing at SANFL level than Hayes is. By playing Teakle as #1 ruck in the AFL and Hayes as a forward in the SANFL we're making both players and both teams actively worse.

Didn't Davies at one point say Hayes was the best ruckman outside the AFL or something

What happened

I think it was pretty literally what Philthy says. They decided they didn't want a tap focused ruckman and they'd prefer to lose the taps and play a player who can get involved in link up play, and Hayes was never going to be a ball carrying player. I think he initially fought hard to win his spot back but now he's seen the writing on the wall and he's lost motivation.

Another similar incident is not letting Trengove go back to defence because we didn't think he could play the intercept focused team defence that we'd implemented while we were using him in the ruck (something I really disagree with, we effectively threw a very mobile key position defender on the scrapheap instead of letting him learn the system and adapt. I firmly believe he cold have been the missing link over the last half a decade)

Trengove also struggled at Footscray. Defensive play seemed to evolve away from his type of play.

Why did we arse Dougal Howard? We literally made him captain for a game lol

Frampton I get, even though he's doing ok now.

Ladhams would be our best ruckman by an absolute mile currently.

We exist to make ourselves work hardery, not smartery
