i would be dissapointed if there isnt a pick upgrade involved with this trade.

port have been desprate for shulz for 3 years know & have a player thats out of contract that wants to come to us.

we should at least demand an upgrade of our 5th(67) rounder for their 3rd(40)

Unfortunately he has been getting worse and only played about 4 games this year, didn't he? His only real asset IMO, his goal kicking, abandoned him too, considerable reducing his value. Not sure what Port have in mind for him, but a return home could see him improve, but at this moment, we should accept whatever gets offered for him.

port would of paid for him..............they want him

every player has gone down hill this year & all other clubs know that its wallaces fault.

as for farmer he wants to come to us & would of via the psd port knew this and would of done a pick upgrade.

if we havnt got an upgrade of picks i consider we havnt done to well.

I really wish Jay Schulz all the best. I hope he meets his potential and plays really well.

I totally agree with this.

I, for one, would have liked to see him stay on.

I totally disagree with this. Look 8 years is long enough, he was never going to realise his potential at the Richmond Football Club. I like Sarge and he is a good bloke, but for his sake and ours, it is time to move on.

Mitch Farmer will be a Richmond fan favorite, mark my words. I know we have needed this type for a very long time.

Very good trade, plus we upgrade picks too.

Relax. We're getting an upgrade of picks plus we may find ourselves another pick in the 20's for Mr Shane Tuck. Stay tuned.

Must be more to it because that wouldn't involve us in the junior burger trade at all. Either that or we aren't the 4th club involved.
we are the 4th club and we will get pick 40 because the farmer/shulz deal wasnt just a staight swap of players we wanted an upgrade & port had to kick in a pick for the burger trade , so they gave ours.

Essendon's Pick 26 would be a dream. Today 20:35
ports pick 16 would be even better ??

Best of luck to young Mitch, he's a fabulous lad that deserved more opportunities, hopefully he'll get them at the Tigers.

He'll probably double the number of young single female members that you currently have.

bit disappointed we couldnt pull of a trade for Mumford and Kennedy, but i have a feeling we would of offered our third round for mummy leading the swans to pip us with their second.

wouldnt be surprised if we get pick 40 for 50 in this trade given we could of taken farmer in psd.

Bit hard to pull that off considering we don't have pick 50 and Geelong now have 40 from Port.

id be outraged to pay mumford a 4 x 300k contract, the reality is he's shown little more than Gus...FACT...he was dropped in favour of Blake...whats that tell you, a bloody BIG whaling WARNING, thats what:eek:

the frustrating thing with schulz and hes had this from his junior days, is his laconic demeanor. Has all the necessary tools, reliable footskills, agile, good body size, fearless, looks like a player but he just doesn't get involved enough. His intensity, tenacity and desperation to be involved in contest after contest is deplorable and has cost him a RFC career and us a useful KPP. Get that right and you'll have a useful player, but imho, he'll struggle to change his stripes FWIW.

P.S I've alway defended Jay about 5 yrs ago I played poker with him and a few other tigers and had a great laugh so always had a soft spot for the bloke, but even i have realised he's run his race. Good luck

Sounds like a perfect replacement for Toby Thurstans then :D

I think you guys are well in front in this trade. I really rate Mitch and have seen quite a bit of him at SANFL level. He will be a good small defender. I think Harwick is the best comparison though he will probably end up a little bulkier, he has some real size about him.

I think we have won out of this deal but I would have prefeered draft picks. Welcome to the Tiges Mitch, just watching some footage of him and he reminds me a bit of Tarkyn Lockyer. I can't see him in the backline, I think he wil rotate out of the centre (when fit enough) and maybe the forword line, perhaps the flanks.
