Theres time yet.

Shes 53 and a likeable straight talking politician who cuts through the noise.

In the next ten years the most homophobic demographic will die and stop voting.

And a whole generation that dont gaf about gays and have spent their lives growing up in multicultural classrooms will start voting.

I have hope.
How many people base their vote on sexuality and ethnicity these days?

Albo is boring and uninspiring, much like Biden. PW is a leader I could get behind.

With all due respect, anyone can stand by that statement as it’s nothing.
Exactly.

I'm still trying to work out the point he was trying to make, other than "why make promises (ie have policies) at all if you can't deliver them?"

May as well have no parties other than the LNP/Nat/ALP then if that's the case.

Of course, his argument also forgets the bargaining power the Greens would have if they were to hold balance of power in the Senate.

I think the problem is within the parties themselves and their pre selection processes.

There is no doubt that non European ethnic groups are under represented in our Parliaments at both state and federal level.

For example, a Uni of Melbourne study published this year reported that at the 2019 Federal election just 3 of the 151 elected members had Asian ancestry despite the fact that at the 2016 Census, people claiming full or partial Asian ancestry (East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian and Central Asian) comprised around 16 percent of the total Australian population.

I've restated it several times and will do so again:

'And, more to the point, in the context in which I wrote them which was in direct response to a statement claiming that the Greens were the 'only party that stands on a platform of cleaning up corruption....'

The point being (and one you seem unable to comprehend) is that comparing the comprehensive wish list platform of a party that will never form government with party or parties that have a realistic chance of forming government and actually will (or at least should) be held to account to deliver on their platform promises is a disingenuous comparison. Especially given what happened to Bill Shorten's attempt to present a comprehensive and costed policy platform at the last Federal election.'

Perhaps if you took the time to read what I wrote in context instead of selecting bits out of context and to rewording it to fit your own narrative that doesn't come close to what I wrote then you might have a chance of 'working it out'.

Anyway. I've made my point and have moved on.

A matter that still remains unresolved in both the political and criminal sense btw.
Can't see him calling an election before this court case ends

You haven't moved on because you quoted me.

You still haven't informed me what my "political allegiance" is either - seeing as how you apparently know, or presume that you do.

You also didn't answer this question while we are at it -
"What promises should a party that can't form government make then? Given that they can't keep any of them?"

But you are right, moving on is probably the best idea - once you "champed" me, that really was the end of things. :)

A good faith tip for BigFooty posting by the way - from someone who has been around much longer than you - try, as best you can, to use any negative terminology in relation to the argument of the poster you are dealing with and not the poster themselves.

This deserves a response. My use of the term 'political allegiance' refers to allegiance to the prevailing political process not to a political party. But can see how it can be used to mean the other.

But the HARD LEFT!!!!
Medicare was hard left not so long ago, so was Superannuation for the masses and go back a little further and a 38/36 hour week would destroy all life as we knew it

Strange how easy it is for Hard Left ideas to become ingrained into society once we try them

In years to come a "social wage" will be be so normal no one will even think it odd

It is only in the spotlight if Murdoch and co report it 🙄

Yep. An example of that is the failure of the press to follow up on the latest stuff up that happened in the police handling of the case in the lead up to its initial pre hearing earlier this month.

The accused's barrister told the court that he had received a confidential police brief containing information on the prosecution case to which he and his client should not have had access to. Surely that was worthy of highlighting given what has happened thus far.
