Your mate was the name I heard

I heard they were chasing Wojinski ex Geelong and were also really keen on Matt Scarlett but he might have more coaching opportunities thrown at him in AFL end of year so probably not even close. Any chance you knuckle heads can name a name?

Won't be wojo know... unless he's non playing.. as an article in herald sun says he has done an ACL and has retired from all forms of football

A good get by Kyenton if its true.
Mark Adamson to coach next year. Should be able to recruit some decent players with all his connections from within the footballing fraternity. What does everybody else think if its true?

Mean while the Roos are searching for a coach for 2014 after Tigga indicated that this will be his final year as coach.

was pretty happy for Kyneton to get a stand out coach like Adamson this week. Adamson needs to have a good look at RDFL clubs close by as a couple of the younger kids(18-22yo) could stand up to BFL.
IF Adamson was appointed last year in theory do the locals think they may have had a team this year?
Also in regards to Brian Walsh initially being appointed for this year was he not considered or did he pull out of any application to continue ( or start) at the club?
Would be interested with the locals thoughts on the above?

60 large ones should do the trick

60 for the coach and how much for the players? Dont think he would go anywhere unless he knew how much he had to spend on recruits as need a few.
Looks like a large spend chasing him.

How's Brodie FILO traveling this year? Played against him last year in central Murray and kicked 6 against us in a final. Still dangerous?

Lets talk football, not this crap.

It looks like Gisborne, Square & South are the teams still vulnerable to missing the finals. One of them won't make it. The winner of South v Square on August 10 will probably be safe. Gisborne have made it pretty difficult for themselves, but South to me still remain unconvincing. Don't think they go on another recruiting drive from the Northern Territory for a while!! (A message to my beloved Dragons - be very careful going to Castlemaine next week, don't undo all your good work).

What are the thoughts of others?

Future of VFL football in Northern Victoria to be decided by the Bendigo Community:
http://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au...-decide-future-of-vfl-football-in-city/?cs=80

It is time for the Central Victorian community to decide if they want a VFL pathway for local talent within their own backyard. If so, support the Gold at http://www.supportbendigogold.com.au/

Regardless of what many think, Bendigo footy needs VFL footy.

If you ask Holmes, Bowe, Bristow, Rosa, Geary, Fisk and the guys like them what they got out of the VFL program there is no doubt that they would agree that it made them better footy players.

They then bring what they learn back to their local clubs and help lift the bar to the next level.

AFL recruiting is one part - but it is Bendigo footy that really gets the longer term benefits IMO.

The gold need a home groundand base to call home for identity. They need to have all players on their list play in the bfl if they arent playing for the gold instead of everywhere. That happened when the bombers first came to bendigo. They need to get the best players in the bfl to play.cant see any of that happening so the gold will die even quicker than the diggers

why do all players not playing have to be on a BFL list? Its not a BFL team, its a location same as Frankston and there is half the problem with most people's mindset. Players have come from all different areas not just Bendigo and the players playing now have committed to the club whereas the "best players" in the BFL wont so why would you chase them to play? To be more competitive and these blokes playing means the surrounding leagues again become weaker.
I dont see a future for Gold as taking the best young talent from areas struggling with population is a sure way to kill some clubs.
Can I get an honest opinion from a regular Gold follower of how many players would be on a list at another VFL club as I believe Essendon took the players they wanted when affiliation ceased. I believe a handful at best would be at other clubs.

Personally I don't want the Council spending rate payers money establishing a base for the Gold and I want the best players in the BFL in the BFL. The Gold will never match the AFL supported sides in the VFL and are destined to be cannon fodder until they eventually fold. I couldn't care less when they do.

To suggest that all Gold players should be affiliated with a BFL club is arrogant. The club should be representative of the region. To have a player from the Gold squad come back and play for his home club, whether it be in the BFL,LVFL,HDFL,CMFL or wherever it is, is so beneficial. All clubs work hard to develop their local talent and should be rewarded with that player running out for his home club.
