SEASON 2023

Yep Yea v Kinglake first round still opening the season.

Yes hard to plan not knowing when you’re playing for both divisions. From a Premier Division perspective Narre v Pakenham starts a week earlier on 15/4 and keen to see who we think will be the contenders in 2023. Gembrook being elevated will also be exciting for them and haven’t heard much re their recruiting. Great to have the footy back!

Does this mean that Broadford are travelling OK? If not, you would think there would have been discussions on keeping the combine running for another year?

And what about netball?

Do we know what’s happened to Yarra Glen? Fielded full seniors and reserves sides in the final round of 2022..

Seems a big drop off from a numbers perspective in one off season

Any info out yet? Or do the league hope Divvie two just self combust/disappear and they never have to think about it again?

They only have 20-22 committed players so doubt they will get two teams up. Although I feel bad for them, time to start being honest and stop stuffing other clubs around. Yea would have known weeks ago they weren’t going to get up so same applies to them.

Sad to see Yea not having enough numbers for 2023, hope they get back in 2024 but will be tough after 2 years in recess
Good decision by Yarra Glen footy department, hopefully they get a few players back and can be very competitive back in division 2.
Question has to be asked though, plenty of big footy followers on this forum suggested this in Sept last year, who holds the CEO, board and ex CEO accountable for this debacle, surely this could have been decided months ago to give all clubs some certainty, not 23 days before the season begins.
Who reimburses clubs who have printed membership cards with fixtures on them, it’s these little things that add up and hurt all AFLOE clubs.

And nothing still on AFLOE website 🤦‍♂️

Thunder with all the uncertainity around hopefully the smart clubs would have not printed membership cards with fixtures on them
